How much time to allow

I am getting a car service. The ship docks at 8A.M. How much time should I allow from my disembarkment time until the car service picks us up? In other words if I'm getting of the ship at 9:30(card time I selected) what time should I tell the service to pick us up?

I would check with the cruise line or even post on the cruise line CC board to see what others have done. If you are not in a rush I would recommend 10:00 AM because there can be delays from the ship arriving to port a little later than planned to getting the ship cleared to getting the luggage off the ship.

If you are talking about NYC, most car services will tell you call them when you sail under the Verrizanno Bridge. We called when we docked. Although it may be your 1st NYC arrival, it's not their 1st cruise. They have a system. Ask them what they want.

We usually set a pick up time in the neighborhood of 9:30 to 10. The car service we use wants us to call when we get through customs and immigration. As a previous poster noted, you should ask your car service what their procedure is.
