lrcruising Posted October 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Is January or April a better time to be cruising around Tahiti? We are sun worshippers and would like to go when it's sunny and warm, not the rainy season. Our only 2 options are Jan. or April. Any input would be appreciated. Rare Kinkacruiser Posted October 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2011 You'd experienced less rain in April. We will be there early May.
happycdn Posted October 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2011 If you check the weather in Tahiti you will see that Nov - March is the rainy season April would be a better time to go
twin123185 Posted November 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Been there both months - I was lucky and had zero rain both times. A little muggier in January and we did miss a cyclone by 12 hours!
newonboard69 Posted November 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 10, 2011 As one local told us there is the wet season and the really wet season. You are going to have some type of showers most any day. We were there in Oct and on occasion, had passing showers in the morning and in the evening, but the weather was warm and things dried up in a hurry. Your going to love it no matter what the weather brings.
Rare Fletcher Posted November 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2011 I've been there in January and never had a drop of rain, then went across to the Cook Islands and it rained all the time. I've also been to Tahiti in September and it rained all the time and to the Solomons and Vanuatu at the height of the rainy season and never had a drop. Point is, there is no such thing as predictable weather patterns anymore. There is only weather. And luck. I actually prefer some rain because you get dramatic skies for pictures. Gordo Posted November 12, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2011 The rainy season is Nov to March, but while we were there last year in October and November there was rain in October but none in November. Go figure.
