kazbar Posted October 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2011 Hi :) I read on JH blog that the Splendor would be getting the 2.0 upgrades (or at least some of them) at some stage in 2012 with the dates yet to be announced. I have looked through the sailing dates for 2012 and cannot see a gap anywhere that they could schedule a drydock, so how does that work? Do they do the work with customers onboard at some stage or will they cancel bookings and slot in a drydock somewhere along the calendar? I have over $7000 in plane tickets booked and paid for, not to mention hotels, car hire and other arrangements already made, so I will be really P'd off if we suddenly get bumped for a drydock. Please, does anyone know what happens? firefly333 Posted October 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2011 Splendor isnt listed in 2012. the dates actually are out, but I only paid attention to conquests. Carnival Liberty 2011,Breeze, Conquest, Glory in 2012, Destiny, Legend, Pride, Victory in 2013 Elation Freedom Triumph Valor in 2014 Magic and Paradise in 2015 It could be, but it is not one of the ships schededuled to get 2.0 in 2012. firefly333 Posted November 1, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Has anyone ever been bumped from a booked cruise for a drydock before? yes, people have but not for a cruise within say 6 months unless the ship was having mechanical problems. How far out is your cruise?

big_duck Posted November 1, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2011 6 months (29th April) Seems like a good time to invest in travel insurance.
kazbar Posted November 1, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Yes, of course we have travel insurance but money can only fix so much. We would be hugely disappointed if we couldn't go as planned.

Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 1, 2011 #11 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Echo Big Duck's comments. For the $100 + it costs, I would get travel insurance now. Why risk 7K of your money?
