kenorus Posted November 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Just wondering what the weather would be like leaving from san diego at the end of april travelling to hawaii. I am interested in the 15 day trip but is worried about rough seas and weather.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted November 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2011 I posted this question on the Hawaii Port Form and found out it may be cool and choppy for the 1st day or so from San Diego. I would post the link but can't figure out how. Mary Lou
kenorus Posted November 5, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted November 5, 2011 even at the end of april it would be cool and rough. When is the best time to do that crossing. I had a rough crossing from new york to bermuda, it was not fun!
Cruise Junky Posted November 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2011 I think you should count on the first two and last two sea days being rough and cool and if it doesn't happen it's a bonus.
vvnh16a Posted November 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2011 JUST GOT BACK FROM THE OCT 17 -NOV 1ST CRUISE ON THE CENTURY rt TO HAWAII FROM SAN DIEGO. The seas were fine maybe 3-4 ft some wind but it was actually quite pleasant. Not cetain you can predict the sea with a broad brush.....it can change every or any day. judyfssw Posted November 5, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2011 We went in February and another time in October. The February cruise was smooth as silk with the exception of the first 2 days out of San Diego. The October cruise was rough going and coming but we saw lots of whales from the ship in Hawaii. I think that you should figure that Mother Nature will give the seas that she wants. Good Luck with your cruise. If you love sea days - enjoy. Rare Keith1010 Posted November 5, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Took this cruise a few years ago on the Summit. It was a great cruise. First day to day and one half and the last day to day and one half will likely be cool on the open deck and it may be windy and the seas choppy. Closer to Hawaii it is warmer with much calmer seas. We really enjoyed those nice sea days at the front and the tail end of the cruise. Allows you to relax right away and to also end the cruise with several relaxing days at sea. Enjoy!
