TRINK Posted January 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2012 Want to go relax at beach/pool bar.......was thinking Plaza resort, Divi Flamingo or the Eden Beach. Which one is nicer and how far are they from cruise terminal? Would love any feedback, this is our first time at Bonaire. Thanks
tpwolfe Posted January 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2012 We went to the Plaza Resort. It was about a 15 minute walk to get there from the pier. They have a green van that will take you to and from the cruise port for free. The charge at Plaza Resort was $10.00 per person to use their facilities (Pool, Beach, Beach chair, etc.) Very good snorkeling there.

Which one is nicer and how far are they from cruise terminal? Would love any feedback, this is our first time at Bonaire. Thanks We were at the Plaza in Dec. 2011. Nice place, good pool, nice padded loungers at the pool but take ship's towels with you if you don't want to plunk down a $25 deposit for their towels. If it's been raining turn the pads over for the dry side. They bring out dry pads mid-morning, or if you ask. They have a booth at the pier with the free shuttle van, nice people. They shake their heads at the cruisers doing the island by water taxi, no services, no bathrooms, no food, no loungers, which costs more than the Plaza. Sandy beach is adequate, not great sand but ok. Lots of thatched umbrellas and loungers. You can see the ship from the beach, about a half mile away, but a confusing route to walk. Food prices ... cokes were about $4, nice big soup for about $6 was good, small beers were about $3. No pool service, order at the bar. The grounds are pretty, nice to walk around, go over the bridge at their marina towards the lobby. There was free internet at the end of the lobby in a little room near the front entrance. It lists the cost but we could connect for free. Nice bathrooms in the lobby. We heard the Eden Resort was a dump, construction etc. -Bob

wdblake Posted March 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2012 This a great day stop during your cruise. Snorkling was incredible! I would not attempt to walk here as it would be a pretty long hike besides there is a free shutlle to and from the resort.
