crznfuls Posted January 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2012 We have an inside cabin on the Grand. Will the hair dryer be in the bathroom or in the desk? Is it an on/off switch or a button that needs to stay pressed in order for the dryer to remain on? Thanks
celestialcruiser Posted January 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Good question. I hate those hair dryers that need to have the button pushed down the whole time you are trying to dry your hair. That's why I usually bring my own travel hairdryer. Sunviking Posted January 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I can't answer where they are in an inside cabin, but they are definitely the kind you have to hold the button the whole time you are using it. Additionally they don't seem to have a lot of power. I have short hair and I can't stand using them so always bring my own.
crznfuls Posted January 16, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Thank you for the replies. I did a little searching and found a picture - it appears that they are the kind that are in the wall and dryer pops out. I hate those kinds. Guess I'll bring my own. I've learned how to pack less over the years so I should have plenty of room :)
argenta01 Posted January 16, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2012 No matter what type cabin you have all the hair dryers are located next to the desk. You do no need to hold a button in order for the dryer to work. It has 2 settings high and low.

I have been on all sizes of Princess ships, and in insides, outsides, balcony and suites, they have NEVER are in the bathroom, but always by the desk, and you don't need to hold a button down to operate them. sez809 Posted January 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I found the hairdryer little more than useless, for my thick shoulder length hair. I shall be taking my GHD travel dryer when I cruise with the Grand in August.

The hairdryers are in the bathroom on the smaller (OCEAN and PACIFIC) ships. Also, these are a bit more powerful than those found on the other ships. GweninTX Posted January 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2012 On the Coral it was worthless - take your own!
senior lady Posted January 17, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I've never had a problem with them. My hair is semi short and thick. Works just fine for me. You don't have to hold the button down. I like it that there not in the bathroom, as you can be doing your hair while the other person is in the shower
