onebzyldy Posted February 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2012 How *formal* are the elegant nights on Carnival ships cruising in Europe ?? Are men in a dress shirt and slacks acceptable or is a suit required?? Opinions please :) Happy Cruising.... DonnaF :D
SF Cfan Posted February 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Many men wore jackets too. But, nice slacks with a shirt and tie will be just fine. By the way some folks really dressed to the nines and others less so. Enjoy the cruise. The Mediterranean cruise is a very special vacation. onebzyldy Posted February 6, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Thank you for your reply, I should have also asked about the ladies, slacks and a sparkly top would be OK ?
seabrookcruiser Posted February 6, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Thank you for your reply, I should have also asked about the ladies, slacks and a sparkly top would be OK ? Yes, that would be fine. We saw many women on the Magic Med/TA cruises in black slacks and a dressy or sparkly top. Have fun!
chipmaster Posted February 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Didn't sail Carnival but on Princess I'd say slacks and nice shirt with tie and similar for ladies work, overall the Europeans seem a bit more fashion and fit too :D
robin13 Posted February 6, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2012 We did the 9 night Med cruise this past October and I have to say that formal night was pretty casual compared to other cruises I have been on. I wore a sun dress with strappy sandals while my DH wore dress slacks and a jacket (no tie). It did seem that older people (over 70) were the ones wearing tuxes and sequined gowns. I told my DH that on our next cruise that he could leave the jacket at home as it took up so much room and he wore it for 10 minutes.
