Manhattan Cruise Port

We just booked Cruise to Nowhere on NCL for Feb. 18. We will be driving in the morning of the cruise from eastern PA. Is parking at the port our best bet? Not that thrilled with driving in Manhattan. Any other options? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

For a one night cruise, parking at the pier for $30 is probably your best bet. Any other transportation options will probably cost more and take longer. The cruise port is just a hop, skip and jump from the Lincoln Tunnel. You won't have to drive in the heart of Manhattan where traffic is heaviest.

Can you drop off your luggage somewhere before parking, or do you need to park and wheel the luggage to the cruise terminal?

It's best to go directly to the parking lot. If you drop your luggage off first you'll have to exit the cruise terminal complex and come back north on 12th Ave. in order to reenter at 55th St.

There are often porters available on the parking lot level If not, it's easy enough to just roll your luggage onto the elevator, take it down one floor to the cruise terminal check in level and hand it over to a porter before you proceed inside to check in.
