Hi - has anyone taken a river cruise with Grand Circle? We have done many cruises, but none with Grand Circle. We are considering them as they have a great itinerary for the Black Sea, but are a little concerned about their quality. Thanks Much

We haven't tken a river cruise with Grand Circle (yet), but we have taken three ocean cruises with them, and were satisfied with both service and price, although their air department is a little difficult to deal with.

We did a GCT Baltic cruise, on Norwegian Dream, 5-99. Loved the itinerary, but ship certainly not our favorite.

We did a GCT Norwegian Coastal Cruise, on Nordnorge, 7-00,and had a great time.

We did a GCT Asian cruise, Singapore to Beijing, on Regal Princess, 3-01, and enjoyed it very much.

We leave on Sunday for our second GCT river cruise, Romance of the Rhine and Mosel. Last summer we did their "Great Rivers of Europe" on the Rhine, Main, Danube Canal and Danube from Amsterdam to Vienna. We have also taken six of their land tours, to Bali, Australia/New Zealand/Fiji, Alps, Thailand another Europe trip, and a couple of ocean cruises. Based on our experiences, I would highly recommend them. On every trip we have taken with them, many many of the fellow travelers were repeaters. We thought the trips were extremely well organized, well paced and excellent value for the money. We have always found GCT very easy and professional to deal with.

We took the Rhone River, Paris, & the Cote d'Azur river cruise on the maiden cruise of the ms Ravel in April, 2001. It was and excellent trip. The meals and the service on the Ravel were outstanding. The 120 passengers were divided in three groups of 40 for the included land tours. The prices on all Grand Circle tours are quite competitive. I would estimate that they are about 10% lower than the corresponding tours on Vantage, for example. Also, with regard to the river cruises, most of their river boats are new, less than four years old. We have taken 6 tours with GCT and have always been very pleased.

We've been on two GCT River cruises, Cruising Burgundy & Provence to the Cote d’Azur on MS Provence (46 passengers) and Russian Waterways on the Kikhi Don (215 passengers). They were great, well organized, good tour directors.

In comparing cruise companies, check the ships, cabin sizes and optional tours. GCT does have more optional than most and the costs should be considered.
