Spirit Deck 8 Forward Cabin Question

We booked a guarantee and just had a cabin assigned on Deck 8 Forward. Very happy with the cabin, since we had an Obstructed guarantee. It is 2 decks above the casino and directly above the art gallery. My question is about foot traffic down the hallways, since Deck 8 is shared with meeting rooms, restaurants and shops. Does anyone have experience being on Deck 8 Forward? Did people walk down the halls just because they don't know were they're going???? Also, I'm not a big fan of 2nd hand smoke, will we be able to smell anything from the casino???

Sailing in 20 days :) Thanks~ Debbie

Your cabin will be very quiet. No real traffic there. No smoke from the casino... It doesn't affect decks above or below.

If I am reading this correctly, you will have a Deck 8 room. Deck 8 is right above the casino, on deck 7.

Does the hallway go through deck 8 there? I thought it was a dead end, and you had to go to deck 7 or 9 to go aft.

the regular foot traffic ends at the elevator bank/stairs. after that it's just ppl going to their cabins. i use to use deck 8 to by pass the traffic on deck 7. plus it was nice to check out the store's windows and view the photos. it's deck 6 that doesn't go through. the restaurants block the way and you have to go deck 7 and down.

I just got back from the Spirit. My husband & I were in 8525. The hallway is quiet. It is actually a good location. I was a little worried about being forward but no issues. The only thing to worry about is that the walls are VERY thin. We could hear everything going on next door, and I mean EVERYTHING! We were on level five back in September. We didn't hear anything in that room.

Have a great cruise. The Spirit has the best crew and the best food I have ever had on any ship.

Thanks Nanners! I'm excited now. I was wondering, is there a short flight of stairs to the section with cabins from Deck 8? We were on a ship that had a 1/2 deck like this, and we had to go down like 7 steps or something. Not that it's a big deal, my goal is to walk stairs more and take the elevator less, but I occasionally have sore knees.

We were in 8013 (an inside guarantee) for 12 days. VERY quiet, no hallway noise. No smoke odors either. I agree that I could hear our neighbours on the first evening...they had a couple of young children with them. I thought, 'oh no, this is not going to be good'. However, I never heard them again after that so perhaps this was just a 'busy, hectic time' while getting everything squared away on day one.

We've been on 4 Spirit cruises and this was the most forward we've been. It was a little rough one night which I don't remember feeling on our other, more centralized cabins on our other cruises. Then again, this was the Atlantic since we were going to NO from Boston so I guess rougher seas might be expected...more so than just sailing around the Caribbean.

Have fun...and you'll have a direct shot to Champagne Charlies!!lol
