mushroom Posted May 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Does anyone know if there is a rental car company that lets you pick up the car at the pier in Honolulu and drop it off at the airport?
Hobbsey Posted May 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I doubt it, but many will pick you up at the pier and take you to their rental desk. 1968 Lurline (Matson) 1969 Mariposa (Matson) 1998 Seabreeze (Premier) 1998 Century (Celebrity) 1999 Seabreeze (Premier) 1999 Norwegian Crown (NCL) 1999 Voyager of the Seas (RCL) 2000 Westerdam (HAL) 2000 Carnival Victory (CCL) 2000 Sensation (CCL) 2001 Mercury (Celebrity) 2001 Norwegian Majesty (NCL) 2001 Vision of the Seas (RCL) 2002 Norwegian Wind (NCL) 2004 Maasdam (HAL)
mushroom Posted May 25, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Thank you Hobbsey. Do you happen to know which ones will do this?
Hobbsey Posted May 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Enterprise will do it any time to any location. We used Budget and found they were very accomodating. In fact our van driver took us on a little side tour, he was quite friendly and entertaining. 1968 Lurline (Matson) 1969 Mariposa (Matson) 1998 Seabreeze (Premier) 1998 Century (Celebrity) 1999 Seabreeze (Premier) 1999 Norwegian Crown (NCL) 1999 Voyager of the Seas (RCL) 2000 Westerdam (HAL) 2000 Carnival Victory (CCL) 2000 Sensation (CCL) 2001 Mercury (Celebrity) 2001 Norwegian Majesty (NCL) 2001 Vision of the Seas (RCL) 2002 Norwegian Wind (NCL) 2004 Maasdam (HAL)
Catmomma Posted May 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I have a car reserved through Alamo and as far as I can tell I have to take a cab to the airport from the pier in order to go pick it up. Anyone know if this is walking distance? (pier to airport) I am willing to walk 2-3 miles. Hobbsey Posted May 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Catmomma, you don't want to walk to the airport. Contact alamo to see if they have van service to the pier. If not, then shop around. 1968 Lurline (Matson) 1969 Mariposa (Matson) 1998 Seabreeze (Premier) 1998 Century (Celebrity) 1999 Seabreeze (Premier) 1999 Norwegian Crown (NCL) 1999 Voyager of the Seas (RCL) 2000 Westerdam (HAL) 2000 Carnival Victory (CCL) 2000 Sensation (CCL) 2001 Mercury (Celebrity) 2001 Norwegian Majesty (NCL) 2001 Vision of the Seas (RCL) 2002 Norwegian Wind (NCL) 2004 Maasdam (HAL)
sassycruiser Posted May 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2004 In February National was the only company that would allow you to pick up at the airport, and drop off the car at their downtown location and then drive you to the pier with no fee. I called them directly to confirm. However, on the way back they did charge us $20.00 to pick up a car from downtown and drop it off at the airport. All other car companies I contacted did not have service to the pier.
Catmomma Posted May 25, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I already have the car with Alamo booked (Expedia package) so I guess I weill just plan on catching a cab to the airport to go get the car if they do not have a shuttle. If I was walking it would just be me without my bags. I am a distance walker so a few miles don't bother me at all. Hobbsey Posted May 25, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2004 I'm not sure of the route nor distance, but it seemed to be pretty conjested with traffic. Driving took about 20 minutes. 1968 Lurline (Matson) 1969 Mariposa (Matson) 1998 Seabreeze (Premier) 1998 Century (Celebrity) 1999 Seabreeze (Premier) 1999 Norwegian Crown (NCL) 1999 Voyager of the Seas (RCL) 2000 Westerdam (HAL) 2000 Carnival Victory (CCL) 2000 Sensation (CCL) 2001 Mercury (Celebrity) 2001 Norwegian Majesty (NCL) 2001 Vision of the Seas (RCL) 2002 Norwegian Wind (NCL) 2004 Maasdam (HAL)
JohnL1935 Posted May 25, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Alamo picked me and a few others and took us to the airport. Call them on your cell phone. They picked us up around the corner from the pier--not at the pier itself. John L.
minnesota pam Posted May 28, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 28, 2004 When we sailed the STAR in March, we could rent a car through the ship. I think it was through Budget, but not sure. The car was at the port when you got off the ship and then you returned it to the airport. Check to see if you can rent cars on the ship and go from there. It was very convenient. minnesota pam Countin until heaven on the STAR TO HAWAII NCL Sunward II 1986 Carnival Festivale 1989 NCL Windward 1995 RCCL Rhapsody of the Seas 1998 NCL Sky 2000 NCL Star 2004
