Rental car in Hololulu

Does anyone know if there is a rental car company that lets you pick up the car at the pier in Honolulu and drop it off at the airport?

I doubt it, but many will pick you up at the pier and take you to their rental desk.

Enterprise will do it any time to any location.

 

We used Budget and found they were very accomodating. In fact our van driver took us on a little side tour, he was quite friendly and entertaining.

I have a car reserved through Alamo and as far as I can tell I have to take a cab to the airport from the pier in order to go pick it up.

 

Anyone know if this is walking distance? (pier to airport) I am willing to walk 2-3 miles.

Catmomma, you don't want to walk to the airport. Contact alamo to see if they have van service to the pier. If not, then shop around.

In February National was the only company that would allow you to pick up at the airport, and drop off the car at their downtown location and then drive you to the pier with no fee. I called them directly to confirm. However, on the way back they did charge us $20.00 to pick up a car from downtown and drop it off at the airport. All other car companies I contacted did not have service to the pier.

I already have the car with Alamo booked (Expedia package) so I guess I weill just plan on catching a cab to the airport to go get the car if they do not have a shuttle.

 

If I was walking it would just be me without my bags. I am a distance walker so a few miles don't bother me at all.

I'm not sure of the route nor distance, but it seemed to be pretty conjested with traffic. Driving took about 20 minutes.

Alamo picked me and a few others and took us to the airport. Call them on your cell phone. They picked us up around the corner from the pier--not at the pier itself.

When we sailed the STAR in March, we could rent a car through the ship. I think it was through Budget, but not sure. The car was at the port when you got off the ship and then you returned it to the airport. Check to see if you can rent cars on the ship and go from there. It was very convenient.
