Thanks for the review Nan , brings a little lump to my throat every time I read agood review.

RR what great parents we all are. Well done to your children too. Good luck for the new grandchild. Do they know if it a boy or girl yet.

Chip shop open Sunday lunch and tea. But it's bloody freezing up there this weekend. Best fish and chips ever:D:D

Danni had the day off from drill training today so her and Carla( the girl next to Danni in the photo, she's one if the dancers) spent the day in Rome. It rained all morning apparently ( shame :p)

Whose off next week then, lucky people

Looking forward to meeting up to RR.

Birthday girl is in Toulon today. Think the ents team are having a meal off the ship today. Was it this port you sent me a link to a webcam from RR , if it was it will be a nice setting for a birthday for her.

Must start my sensible eating plan and not my "see food diet"!! Well after I've eaten the fudge daughter #2 keeps bringing home!!! Her birthday next week so think she's creeping for a new iPad

Hope EssexOldGirl is enjoying her cruise, anyone remember whether it was 1 or 2 weeks she was going for?

Enjoy the sun :D

Yes Happy St George's day and Billy's birthday to all forum dwellers :)

Although I am not going til July, I wondered if anyone on here has done the Souks and Sangria itinerary before?

I see you're going on it in June RR. I want to start looking for tips as, although we've sailed twice on IE before we've not been on this one. Plus my kids are now 17 and 13 so will be able to do a bit more 'grown up' stuff.

Thanks in advance ;)

The new captain is called David Thackery. And thanks to everyone from here for saying happy birthday to Danni yesterday she really appreciated it. EssexOldGirl passed on my birthday wishes and I will post again when she's back to thank her properly. I totally understand why she didn't put it in the daily newspaper thing €16 is a ridiculous amount to pay.
They are having a lovely sunny day in Barcelona today.:D:D

That's who we had in October. He comes across as being so laid back that it would appear he is bored or ready to fall asleep but by golly did he know his stuff and he absolutely loves that ship. We could have listened to him for hours and the praise he gave the crew from the bottom rung to the top was super.

We had a good week on IE and found everything all good as usual with the addition of nice new carpet on stairs. We shouldn't have booked in April weather-wise but saying that the sun shone strongly most of the time but the wind had a nasty chill. When we cruise we don't do any sightseeing as we just stay on the ship and enjoy all the facilities, chill out and read.
re Danni's birthday wishes - just couldn't believe they charge for messages in Island Chat! I took the message to Reception saying Danni's family wanted this message for Sunday, they took the details and asked who to charge (6 pounds not16 euro) - I was appalled as I had no idea customers paid for those messages. So I saw Danni and friends in the Beachcomber on Saturday evening and wished her happy birthday from mum dad and Sarah. Not that your Danni isn't worth 6 pounds - it was he principle of the thing!
Now - my husband doesn't like the shows so I humour him and we watch entertainment in Bounty Lounge nd Pub, but last night we watched the Farewell Show in the Ocean Theatre and after the first few acts this vision of loveliness that was Danni appeared in a beautiful setting wearing a wonderful dress and started singing. ... .well she bought tears to my eyes, it was so lovely. I won't say what she sung so's not to spoil it for others who will see it later, but what a brilliant last evening's entertainment.

Such kind words EssexOldGirl Thankyou so much. We think she as a lovely stage presence and a talented voice but we are rather biased. Thank you for passing on our bday wishes as well it very much appreciated.
Glad your back safe and sound. Danni not very well today. Hope it's not something that's going round the ship!

sorry to hear Danni isn't too well. I'm not really surprised as the changeable weather was ripe for coughs and colds. I was taking lemsips as I developed a cold probably from the early start from home and getting really cold before getting the flight. I could hear coughing from others. Simon, one of the team, was struggling with his throat yesterday but soldiered on doing an Elvis "tribute" for us sitting round the pool which we all enjoyed despite his sore throat. They have to carry on despite their problems and let's hope they don't all pick it up. They are a tough troupe and hopefully the weather will improve and Danni will get back to full fitness quickly.
