Walking from Forum area to Vatican

Just curious. Have reserved Vatican Gardens and tour starts at 8:30 a.m. Was wanting to walk but a bit concerned about time. Anyone familiar with an estimate about the time it takes from the Forum area to Vatican? Thanks in advance.

Do the garden tours start from the museums tour desk? If so, it's a two mile walk from the Campidoglio exit of the Forum to the entrance of the Vatican museums. It's a flat walk, so you can use that to figure how long it would take you to cover the distance. I could do it in a half hour, but that's me (both a question of walking speed and comfort with the locale - I know where I'm going).

Take a taxi. They are plentiful and not expensive for that distance. You will be walking ALOT in Rome..... Also, thats early and I would opt for a second cup of coffee instead of walking ;)

You can also take the metro if you don't want to walk that far.

8:30 am can be rush hour depending on day of the week so even with a taxi or a bus, leave yourself a lot of time. Walking may be faster, but you will be doing a lot of that already.
