Room for deck chairs on the Volendam Navigation aft deck?

Okay, I posted this on the cabin selection site and am not getting answers. So, maybe it was on the wrong discussion site. Let's try it here:

I am booked on an inside cabin on the Navigation deck of the Volendam. I chose this deck because of the aft veranda, which I've read is a fairly private viewing deck almost right outside the door. Also, just a flight up to the Lido deck.

However, I started to wonder about the ability to really sit on this deck when I found a couple of photos of the Volendam aft. This first photo is a fairly good image that you can enlarge if you click on the image: http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Volendam/fqtvguy__4992.jpg. You will notice that the Navigation deck does not have deck chairs.

This photo, I believe, is of the Volendam Navigation deck. http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Volendam/Haligonian37_IMG_0824.jpg . The only seats look like hard wooden benches, which would not be comfortable if you sat for any length of time.

Can anyone tell me if there is room for deck chairs on Navigation or must we sit on the wooden chairs in the photo?

Also, it looks like there is doors to this deck, but not to the deck below (Veranda deck). So, you must use the stairs to get to the Veranda deck, which might make it fairly private and would be another option for us.

You might be able to put a chair there, but you would have to get your room steward to bring it down for you, and there is no way to make sure you will be using it, somebody else might like your idea. How about

just getting your room steward to get you some extra pillows that you could use on the bench to make it more comfortable?

Yes you can go up to the Lido area from your deck.

namaste859,

We have seen people using loungers on that Deck, it's a nice quiet spot.

Maybe they asked a steward to carry the loungers down from the seaview pool area.

As I recall, Verandah Deck also has doors (situated immediately below the Navigation Deck doors) to the aft deck.

There's plenty of room for a lounge chair. My mother stayed in one of the inside cabins with a window.. and we used the deck quite often. It is rather private and allows for gorgeous views.

If you want a lounger instead of using the bench, just ask your cabin steward to bring one down.

Yes, great views, especially good for taking photos when leaving port.
