The hyatt is a 4* hotel - lovely spacious rooms and very centrally located on Burrard Street at Georgia. Under the hotel is Royal Centre mall - a small shopping mall with food court. there is also a Skytrain Station (Vancouver's Light Rapid Transit system is called the Skytrain as most fo the route is elevated int he air) and you can buy a day pass to ride the public transit system (buses, skytrain & seabus) all day for $8.

2 blocks over is the large Pacific Centre Mall.

Lots of good restaurants within walking distance of the Hyatt.

Had the best salmon in the hotel's restaurant, Mosaic. Understand they have a serving of chocolate cake that is HUGE. I didn't have enough room for dessert, unfortunately.

In the shopping arcade below the hotel there's a very popular Chinese restaurant that does a huge dim sum business on weekend mornings. Haven't tried it out but plan to next time we stay at or near the Hyatt.

is very expensive and mostly frequented by business people. The food court has typical food court grub.

Venture up to Robson Street(2 blocks) and check out some of the smaller places like Garlic Guu.

Thank you all for the information. Any other specific restaurants that you would reccomend? Nothing too fancy, more on the casual side & enjoyable for our 12yo daughter.
