Another Question: Do the cabins have safes in them? If they do, are they large enough to fit an iPad or a medium sized laptop (10 inch screen).

 

Yes, all cabins have safes and they are more than large enough to fit both an iPad and medium sized laptops. Just remember your personal code:D We had a mechanic in our cabin onboard MSC Fantasia last summer:D

I was wondering about the casino. Do they give you euros for your credit card charges? We have never gambled on a ship with euros. Should we just bring euros on rather than getting them there?

 

Is the yacht club as nice as they make it look? Isn't there some kind of complimentary spa service included with yacht club?

I'm following up on Norwegian Cruiser's question about the Yacht CLub. We are sailing on Divina in late July with a 13 and 16 year old. Both good travellers. I'm curious about the variety in the menu in the YC restaurants, Le Muse and the Top Sail Lounge, and for the room service menu for the yacht club. The kids are fairly adventurous eaters, but I'm not sure that they are ready for wasabi foam. Thanks!

Hello from the Bay of Biscay -- onboard MSC's new Divina. We boarded yesterday at the shipyard (it's the first time I've ever cruised from a shipyard, pretty cool) at St. Nazaire and are heading south to stops in Lisbon, Cadiz for Seville, and Gibraltar before we hop off.

 

What can I tell you about the ship? Happy to answer any questions and post impressions from time to time (we're also chronicling the trip on Facebook, Twitter, and on our blog so stay tuned).

I've never sailed on MSC cruises before - typically, Princess, RCI and Carnival (among others) are the major cruise lines but I was looking at some of the pictures from the new Divina and it looks gorgeous! Please share whatever you can and I look forward to reading some more of your posts! I just might consider going on an MSC cruise in the not too distant future! The ship looks beautiful! Thanks!

Some of these have been asked already but I figured I would ask as well and add some more of my own.

1. What is the charge for wifi in the Yacht Club cabins? Are there various packages?

2. The YC comes with a drink package is that good all over the ship or only in YC venues?

3. Is there a charge for room service in non YC cabins?

4. Can a YC member bring a non YC person up to their suite for dinner or to dine in the YC restaurant?

5. Is there a fee for the 4D movies?

6. What is the fee for the flight simulator?

 

I am so looking forward to any news of this ship-I hope she is as beautiful as she looks this will be a first MSC experience for us.

Hi - I've just booked a cruise on MSC Divina but now I'm a bit worried about what the entertainment will be like. I'm used to cruises with popular music that we all know and love and can sing along to, something a bit up-beat. I'm worried that this is all going to be a bit too classical/jazz/easy listening and that I'll get bored. Can't find much information on the style of music on the internet. Just looking for a bit of reassurance. Many thanks.

Having looked at you tube I gather there are a few classical singers and the entertainment seems to be more visual, like dancers, acrobats etc. I am sailing in October but don't think the theatre entertainment will be my cup of tea. Like yourself I prefer popular British songs (seems daft as I am going on an Italian Ship) I am all inclusive:cool:, so will probably have a wander to each bar at night and see what is happening in them.

If you like a 'cheesy' party type atmosphere the black and white lounge would suit. If you like classic pop songs sang badly with heavy accents go for La Luna piano bar or the Golden Jazz bar. Don't rule out the theatre, the shows only last 30 minutes and are definitely worth seeing in my opinion. Also there is a Michael Jackson tribute show one night that you might like.

You're not going to find popular British songs to sing along to, I'm afraid. There is certainly classical, jazz and easy listening, it's not the only type of music they have. Bear in mind Brits are a minority on more, so the more upbeat stuff will be to suit the majority. You'll recognise some but not all of it. Some of the shows in the theatre are from West End/Broadway shows. The Divination is a huge ship with ,Amy bars and lounges, so if you don't like what's playing in one, move on to another. There's plenty of choice.
