Clearlakegal Posted May 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2012 We would like to book a 7-day cruise out Galveston in March 2013 (before spring break); either Princess or Carnival. Should we go ahead and book it now, even though the prices are appalling? Or wait and see if they come down a bit? They are listing $1099-$1199 for a balcony/pp.....seems a bit steep. You can wait until closer to sailing to see whether there will be a flash sale but that's a big gamble. There aren't always sales and if you wait, the best cabins will be gone. paul929207 Posted May 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2012 Today. You lock in a good cabin. You lock in a maximum price. If the price goes up, you are not affected. If it goes down, call the TA or cruise line and get the lower price.
caribill Posted May 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2012 When you see a price you are willing to spend.
treinke Posted May 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2012 Spring break prices are high most of the time. They know that they will have full ships.
blueguy48 Posted May 22, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2012 You may want to have your TA check current availability. Princess cancelled 3 cruises at the end of the season so the Crown could head to Europe early next April. Alot of those cancelled passengers booked earlier Princess cruises out of Galveston. They cruise Jan-March, so I'm sure you can find availability, maybe not a specific cabin. We have a Balcony GTY for April 6th and looking forward to cruising the Western Caribbean. We love to snorkel, so the later in the season, the warmer the water. :)
