Halloween Cruise

I have been looking everywhere for information and pictures of Halloween cruises! How the ship is decorated, adults dressed up, events that go on anything you have would be appreciated.

I have a group of 14 going on one this year and they are all newbie’s except my DH and I and they are asking a ton of questions specific to the Halloween aspect and this is our first Halloween cruise.

I was on the Conquest this past Halloween and they only decorated on Halloween day with the large inflatable pumpkins and stuff. They had special drinks at the Casino bar that evening and the costume party and competition was held in the main theater.

I would say about 30% of the passengers dressed up. There were several large groups sailing and most of them had their own private functions. I was sailing with the CC Crazies and we had our paid for cocktail party and costume party that afternoon.

I don't remember on the ship who one 1st place, but a girl dressed as Fiona from Shrek won 2nd place.

I was on Triumph for Halloween in 2010. We had the same decorations as the pictures posted above. My experience was quite different from the previous poster on Conquest. The ship was decorated the whole cruise. The costume contest and party was rocking! We didn't dress up, and we felt kind of like we were observers at someone else's party. We have decided to go on another one whenever we can (couldn't make it last year, shucks!) and we are definitely going to dress up.

On our cruise, the second place costume was a couple dressed as Fiona and Shrek. Here's a picture of the first place prize. (Posing with my sister.)

They also had special desserts in the MDR instead of the usual desserts:

Thank your for the detailed information... I'm thinking about being the one to set up the paid cocktail party for our group do you know the best way to do this?

Thank you everyone for the pictures I let my group know and they are even more excited. I think they were worried the dressing up was more for the kids then adults.

Does anyone know if we should bring candy to pass out or leave at our door for kids?

Kids have a parade through the ship and get candy from shops and specific areas on the ship. I doubt they would be encouraged to take candy from Strangers.

I dressed up as a leopard one year with my mom as Shirley Temple (75 years young!)

I was on the Dream for Halloween this past year. I remember kids walking around, but I don't remember a large amount of them on the cruise. The ship was decorated with a bunch of inflatable Halloween decorations. They had a costume contest in the main show lounge. The entertainment crew walked around after dinner picking people for the contest. They also I was on the Dream for Halloween this past year. They had a costume contest in the main show lounge. They had a Triller dance lesson prior to the contest which was great to watch since everybody was dressed up. They have special Halloween backdrops and those pictures were at a reduced price. All in all it was a blast. I would say a good majority of the people walking around on Deck 5 were dressed up.

we have been on 2 halloween cruises and have had a blast...on the Liberty about half dressed up...on the dream, looked to be everyone that wasnt sleeping was out and dressed (alot alot alot alot of costumes) this year we are going to be on the destiny and again we will be dressing up. some people were walking around handing out candy to the adults and kids, some put out candy by their doors and some just sat around at tables with a pumpkin filled with candy for anyone to have.

we're thinking about going on a halloween cruise on the Breeze. I knew that Carnival had pared down their Halloween festivities from what they used to do in previous years, but not how much. Thanks for this information!

We dressed up a few years ago but the winners were a group dressed like titanic. They all had on black oversized clothes, white face paint with dark around the eyes and a white life perserver with titanic written on it.

Does anyone know if the Mediterranean cruises also do the Halloween costume party as well? Halloween isn't really a big holiday in Europe. We'll be sailing out of Venice on Halloween next year (well, actually Halloween is embarkation day, it doesn't sail until the next day)....which is an almost fitting place, it being the city of masks and all.

we had wanted to do that a couple years ago... i'd be the front half of the Titanic and my hubby would be the back half. In the end, we scrapped it just in case someone on the cruise found it offensive.
