Blackjack tables on carnival?

Recommended Posts

I just got off the Miracle. They had $6 and $25 tables. The $6 minimum is the actual minimum and does not contemplate any "bonus bet". I think they expext it to encoursge people to just bet $10 and from what I saw they are right. Dealer hits on soft 17. They use the infinite shuffle machine on most, but not all, tables.

Hi all,

Just curious, as I don't remember from last years cruise.

Are there any $5 minimum Blackjack tables in the casino?

$6 tables, but $5 can be placed as the bet, and $1 on the pair plus. Pair Plus is betting that you'll get two of a kind. Pays even higher if you get same colored pairs, and even higher than that if you get identical cards....50 to 1 or something like that.

I always place my $5 bet, and then $1 on the Pair Plus (or is it called Fun Pairs?). That way, even if I have a crappy hand like two 7s...at least I get paid on the pairs. :-) EVERY SINGLE TIME WITHOUT FAIL....if I give up on the pairs and just do a regular $6 bet, I end up getting dealt a pair. Ugh.

The "Fun Pairs" can pay out quite well just like you mentioned, and you can bet $5 + $1 on the fun pair. They have one or two "Fun 21" tables where there is no auto-shuffler but rather the shoe, however they take the queens out so we stuck to playing with the auto-shuffler.
