Parking in Southampton - MSC cruise

Posted this in MSC forum, but no response, so thought I'd try here?

We booked a late MSC Opera for 2nd July out of Southampton, with car parking included. The paperwork we've managed to acquire so far is a bit vague; can anyone give us the low down - we think it's either City or Mayflower terminal, and maybe the routine is drive to the terminal, drop off bags, drive to car park (where?), get shuttled back to ship.

Any real life help much appreciated.

Looks like no decision about which terminal has yet been made. In all probability it will be City terminal

Best keep an eye on this site:

The parking routine varies according to the cruise line & terminal, sometimes it's self-park, sometimes valet-park, but all very easy & you start by going to the terminal.

In the absence of any further info, head for dock gate 10. There will be a large matrix direction sign with your ship's name just inside the port gate (others too, on the approaches to Southampton)

No worries

JB :)

Thanks to all three for replies - I should have guessed JB would know the right stuff.

We have called MSC, and their telephone answers are as vague as their paperwork, hence the query on here as an alternative data source. Although we leave next Monday, the only documentation we have so far is a single sheet emailed attachment with an embarkation coupon, a passenger ticket and a miscellaneous car park voucher. The website believes we're booked, which is reassuring. Allegedly, the paperwork is sent out via a carrier (rather than the Post Office).

Maybe a good job we're not congenital worriers?

As JB says head for dock gate 10 and follow the signs, or ask at the Security gate.

As far as I can tell the MSC ship is the only cruise ship in on that day so it should be fairly evident which berth is being used

If the long stay car parks close to the terminal are full you will be directed to the car parks further distance from the ship and shuttled back and forth. You will keep you car keys but your cabin baggage will be taken off you when leaving your car and delivered to your cabin

All arrangements should be fairly straightforward

Thanks again, everyone. Another call to MSC yesterday morning led to our tickets being discovered in their office, despite their allegedly having been despatched a week ago? Arrived by Special Delivery today; no mention of parking included, but I'm sure all will be well.
