Help with B2B

My Dh and I have a cruise booked on the Victory out of Miami next year.

First leg: Grand Turk, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay

I have finally got him to agree to a B2B here is the new conflict.

We can either stay on the same ship (Victory) and go to two different ports but will have to change rooms

Ship: Victory Ports: Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman

OR

Stay in Miami get a hotel room the evening we dock and then the next morning go on the Breeze

Ports: Grand Turk, Ocho Rios, and Nassau

Or

Since our cruise will come back on Sept 6th we could fly to PR and sail out on the 8th on the Valor

Ports: St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St. Marteen

Now ports aside what would you do?

I know we all have our favorite stops ( I have been to all of the above except Ocho Rios, DH has only been to Nassau and Half Moon) but as for the logistics we need some other opinions ?

We cruise for one reason, to relax.

 

Changing rooms would not be my first choice, but for lack of the hassle factor it would be light years ahead of your other options for us. We'd stay on the Victory.

 

We booked the Conquest for a B2B October next year. We chose a certain type of catagory and told our T/A we were only interested in the same cabin and to only let us know which ones we would have for both cruises.

Just got off a B2B and was on the freedom!! I would not change boats on a B2B,, If the first cruise has a problem getting back or could not get back to the port for your second trip you have a big problem !!!

Thank you I was thinking the same thing that it would just be easier to stay on the same ship.

 

Maybe I'll call and double check about the rooms.

Go to carnival web site ,put in first week of the B2B you want to do and what deck and just write down the rooms that are not booked that week.. then go to week 2 and do the same thing and call your t/a and tell them what room you want to stay in.. Good Luck ..and B2B's are the Great..

I would call your TA or a PVP to see what was available. We are doing a B2B in 33 days on the same itinerary except its on the Destiny. For me, it would even be worth it to change locations on the ship if need be. I am looking forward to having the same room steward for 10 days and also not having to pack it up when the first cruise is over. Like previous posters have said, the other options are not the greatest either. Let us know what you decide.

Hmmm there's an idea maybe I can convince him to go for a suite the second leg :rolleyes:

 

As for the room steward we did an aft extended the forest leg maybe if we do an aft suite or balcony right by it we can keep the same steward.

We are actually doing a B2B out if Miami on the Destiny this September with the same itinerary as you are planning. We will have the same cabin for both legs. I can't wait--no stress and 10 days of relaxation.

Stewards do change week to week to other parts of the boat due too their schedule changes ,same as your MDR servers ....

We are doing a B2B in December, and we will keep same room for both cruises. But if you can't keep the same room, while it would suck to have to pack up everything , it is my understanding you can leave your bags in your room and the steward will move them to your new room.

I think you made the right choice. There is no better feeling that knowing you don't have to disembark after the first cruise. And not having to pack up and move is a nice bonus ! Happy cruising.

Ykgorbie, on a B2B you still have to disembark after your first cruise, that is a customs requirement But you are escorted by a Carnival employee, so you get off and then right back on. You will be the last passengers to leave the ship tho

How married are you to your already booked cabin?

 

Maybe you can work with Carnival or your TA to find a cabin in the same category available for both cruises.

 

A little hassle now, will save you more later.

To be honest I normally would be fine with changing rooms but for the first leg we are traveling with friends and booked to balcony’s (them extended us wrap around) so we could open the partition.

If it was a normal trip were we travel alone I would move it to match both legs in a heart beat
