RickEk Posted August 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2012 What do they do for New Year's eve as this will be a full sea day We were on the Sapphire for this past New Year's Eve. It'll be a typical sea day with many festivities planned for the evening. There will be a balloon drop in the Piazza with the traditional countdown. There will also be a party on the upper decks... Have a great time! We'll be on the Caribbean Princess this year for New Year's... Rare Coral Posted August 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2012 There are parties in many venues with different levels of celebration. For example, the Wheelhouse Lounge had a toned down celebration compared to the atrium. There was also a party on the Lido deck. During the day, it seemed like a normal sea day except for the New Years decor is up (you could see the balloons at the top of the atrium). By New Years, a lot of the Christmas decor is mostly gone. Fletch1 Posted August 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Ditto to what the others have said. New Years Eve on a ship IS THE BEST!! Our best NYEs have been on board, without a doubt (maybe we have no lives though...I am not sure about that). If it is a sea day, it will more than likely be a Formal Night, so everyone will be dressed up to the hilt. Staff and Officers mingle with the passengers and everyone lets their hair down and has a great time. No drunken idiots to ruin the night either!!
