Canon Powershot Camera Lost in Kona

On Wednesday August 8, we lost our Canon Powershot underwater camera in Kona. It is blue and silver and somewhat bulky. It was in a black hard case. It was lost somewhere between the cruise ship pier and Coconut Grove Market Place in downtown Kailua-Kona. The Pride of America was in port so a passenger may have found my camera.

The pictures are EXTREMELY sentimental to my wife. If you or anyone you know found this camera please contact me at mtcdn@live.ca.

This doesn't help the OP now, but... For digital cameras it can be a good idea to take a photo of a sheet of paper that lists your name and phone number or email address in big, bold, clear letters. That way if the person who finds it browses through your photos, they will see how to contact you. I wouldn't include contact information that you don't want someone to have though. On many cameras you can do this once and protect the photo so that it doesn't get deleted. I did this on our last cruise. Need to remember to do it again on our next cruise since I did delete it!

I do the same thing except that I just take a photo of the info on my computer screen. :D

There is a website called Ifoundyourcamera.net where honest people who find memory cards or cameras will post identifiable pictures in the hopes of reuniting them with their owner. You might try checking that.

Neat web site. I'll have to give it to my friend who recently found an underwater camera while treasure hunting in the water at the beach. It still had photo's on it but no other identifiable information. He usually returns items if there's some way of finding the person. ie school rings with engraved initials.

I do something similar, I take a photo of me holding a piece of paper with my email address written on it in large print.

I hope you get your camera back!
