tnr Posted August 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2012 In Europe, Regent will change your US $ into Euros. We are doing the Auckland-Sydney cruise in January. Can anyone tell me if we will be able to get Aussie $ on board?

Can anyone tell me if we will be able to get Aussie $ on board? Can't answer your specific question but, as has been mentioned on several posts, it is much better to get your Aussie as well as NZ dollars from an ATM. Most non-US ATM's don't have a transaction charge and you will save in the 15-20% range from what the ship's rate will be if available. Use your credit card until you see your first ATM, they are everywhere and probably available at the port as you first leave the ship.

mrlevin Posted August 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2012 As Dave and Tina have said, use an ATM. THEN, if you have any extra, change them back on board! Last year, Voyager gave out same exchange rate for changing A$ back into US$ as they did for changing US$ into A$ to start. I made good money changing A$ back. If I had known they were going to use same exchange rate, I would have taken advantage of this after every port. :D
tnr Posted August 12, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Thanks. I usually do use an ATM, but just thought I might need a few dollars before I can get to one post-cruise.
