We have been on two 11 day cruises on the Horizon. The last one sailed March 1, 2004. We loved them both. By the time you sail, the Horizon will have gone through a drydock, and be almost a completely different ship. You might want to go to the Celebrity board and look for the threads that discuss those changes.

You also might want to check out the Celebrity Roll call board to chat with others who are sailing with you.

We sailed on the Horizon last year and just loved her. She is a smaller ship and doesn't have the "glitz" that a lot of bigger ships have, but we didn't need that. We liked the fact that you get to know more people and that the crew gets to know you. Such fantastic service; such great food! You will love her.

We took the 11 day Eastern Caribbean tour from Tampa on the Horizon this past January. It was a great cruise. Tampa is a very user-friendly port. If you don't have a motel for the night before the cruise, we suggest the Airport Hilton. They pick you up at the airport and will take you to the port for a few $$$$.

It will be a different ship when you sail on the Horizon. The ship will go into drydock and be completely refurbished before your cruise. Some balcony cabins, all new cabin furniture, possibly a change in public areas and maybe, a few more cabins. You should probably stayed tuned into this board to hear of the new changes.

Regardless of what they change, you will have a good time. The Horizon is a neat, small ship. The crew is very, very attentive and they provide SERVICE in anticipation of a tip.
