Nitemare Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Princess Board here at Cruise Critic You're much more likely to have experienced Princess cruisers see your post at the link above. We've been on the Island's sister ship, the Coral, and you're gonna love it!
mii Posted April 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2004 I agree with nitemare. Go the the Princess board and there is all sorts of info there. As was stated we were on the Coral, the sister ship to the Island and it was great. The size ship is not too big or not too small. Enjoy your cruise. CaptData Posted April 28, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Freebies, go to Art Auction on last day of Auction get free champaine (sp). Go to Horizon Court fill up your water bottle here, also you can fill up your juice bottle or have tea and coffee free. know somewhere on the ship will be fresh brewed coffee (on the Dawn it was on the fifth deck right by the Purser's Desk (the bar that is there). Write down what ever you want on the Room Service card for Breakfast (tip the guy/gal who delivers). Ask for the menus to be kept for you. Keep the Patters. Have fun. It is cheaper to get excursion off the ship but for newbies I recommend Ship Excursions (IMO). Careful of the drinks that are offered at sailaway they are not free. Go the the Capt's meet and greet (free drinks). If you drink pop buya coke sticker. MaryPoppinz Posted April 28, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Save some room for afternoon tea around 3:30 at least one day. They also serve made-to-order hearty sandwiches about that time in the Horizon Court, as well as ice cream. (Be SURE to try the ice cream -- it's all fresh made!) Bring some of your warm clothes, especially if that trip embarks in San Francisco. You will probably need more than a sweater to get use out of your balcony in the evening or to take a walk on deck. Bring your swimsuit, though, because the jacuzzi's are open all night! There's a formal night even on these short cruises, so you'll need to pack accordingly. Get up early (5ish) on the last day, if you can stand it. The trip into Vancouver is so beautiful and serene it's worth giving up sleep for. If you have Personal Choice dining, ask for Ivana and Sebastian as your wait staff. Enjoy!!!
