tennisobo Posted October 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2012 My mom and step-dad are on the Island for the partial Panama Canal cruise leaving FLL Dec. 10. They are wondering if any visas are needed. Since I have never sailed there I thought I'd ask the seasoned Panama Canal cruisers here at CC. Thanks! LeeW Posted October 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Assuming everyone is a US citizen, no. We've done a partial on Coral, a full transit on Coral (Acapulco to Ft Lauderdale) and going again on Island in a couple of weeks. Reminder - on Baja and Caribe decks there is a bacony through the crew area at the bow. They open this up to passengers during the transit. Also, would recommend booking the tour that does the rest of the canal by boat (returns via bus). You go through the Gatun Locks, anchor in the lake, transfer to a bus and then a tour boat for the rest of the locks. Ask the pilot who caused the dent in the Miraflores Lock..... RMLincoln Posted October 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Shouldn't be any visa required for the 10 day partial transit. Visas are needed for Brazil but you won't have Brazil on your itinerary. m--
