Hi Bob, thanks for the update on your cruise mate. The lady (Yvonne) who passed away after being helicoptered off the ship, her funeral is on Monday, down here at Batemans Bay.

Enjoy the remainder of your adventure !

Les, very sorry to hear about Yvonne passing away but we have not heard anything onboard the ship....we have had quite a few passengers being taken to hospital at the different ports

They have left Melbourne and are in the Tasman Sea heading for Fiordland. Just checked the cam and their luck is holding ...the seas are as smooth as....so far.:D

They are due in Fiordland tomorrow, Sunday , and I think their run of good luck may have ended. There is a severe weather warning out for Fiordland,

so we will have to wait and see if Sea Princess makes it into the Sounds this time.

Its a shame , as the weather down there has been glorious for the last 2 weeks. Oosterdam had a perfect run through.

Thanks David, I do hope they get in. We missed the Fjords on Regal Princess in 2007, due to BIG seas after Dundedin. Hope to see the Fjords on Celebrity Solstice in early March.

(Is it Fiords or Fjords?)

They have made it into the Fiords, the sun is shining and the waterfalls are playing. Unfortunatetly the cam is not updating..

Maybe the fjord/fiord/ford/forde :D walls are not allowing line of sight for the satellite uplink ( if its anything other than directly overhead).

we have come out of the 3 sounds, the seas were smooth but once leaving Dusty Sound the seas are a bit choppy and tomorrow's temperature is going to be a cool 15 degress....on the main deck was very cool whilst going thru the sounds

After Fiordland , the next port of call is Wellington. I was wondering which side of the South Island they would travel up, so checked the cams this morning. One site has the scheduled path up the west coast, direct to Wellington, but on checking the Live AIS site , Sea Princess was just off the Taiaroa Heads at Dunedin and appeared to swinging in to meet up with another vessel. She had also slowed down to 9.5 knots.

Perhaps another medical evacuation?

we have had another pleasant day at sea today, the seas have been quite calm again, we have dropped the pilot and lecture off near Dunedin early in the morning.....no medical evacuation

Thanks for the explanation. Have a great day in Wellington tomorrow:)

On the way to Tauranga.

They don't arrive there until mid morning at 10am.

Then on to Auckland on Friday where many Kiwi passengers will no doubt disembark , while everyone else stays on till Sydney.

Anyone flying over to do the short Auckland to Sydney section?
