Mike, Mike, Mike ! You cannot begin to imagine how happy I am to have found your review today. I almost passed up reading it, thinking it was the old one; the Pride. Then I realized, HEY this is NEW.

Delta Dear, it's a real pleasure hearing from you again, thank you. By the way our last cruise was on Glory, not Pride.

We live in the middle of the state of Delaware about 35 miles from Rehoboth Beach, DE which is getting pounded by Hurricane Sandy. All day we have been glued to the TV watching the developments and praying for the safety of those around us.

Hope you are safe and well.

Your review just took me away. It took me back to the Miracle , Jan. 31, 2010. Thank YOU. You captured my two favorite spots; the Mad Hatters Lounge and Gatsby's Garden. I loved sitting, reading and being right at the porthole.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've read every one of your reviews. They just get better and better.

I think they are Tracy's favorite spots also. Mike

Great review so far and only wish the ports in the upper east were as quick as a drive for us in Halifax :( a good seat sale and we can be in FL quicker and cheaper overall when you factor in gas, NY hotels and parking etc! Good to see you're currently online - means Sandy isn't hitting NB as bad as they said so far! About an hour ago the heavens opened up and the rain started but luckily no wind to speak of so keeping the fingers x'ed!!!!

Delta Dear....we're in Magnolia. Hope you all faried well through the storm. We made out fine.

Mike, once again, thoroughly enjoying the review. It's as if we have watched your family through time and have seen the kids grow. Great stuff!

Hi Cobra1365, We're just below Canterbury and we were just fine. We had power, only a branch or two fell off of a tree, that was it. Glad you made out fine, too.

Glad you like it. It appears that a lot of CC members reading my review are going to Hawaii next year. Wish we were going. :(

My sister and I have a CC group going on that sailing, and your review is posted on the roll call

We all are eating up every word and photo...

Thank you so much for taking the time to do reviews.

There are a couple that seem to do them very well on CC and your adventures are top of the list :)

Mike, great review. Brings back memories from our cruise last February on the Miracle. Great ship...not too crowded and good layout. We are booked on the Miracle for a 15 day cruise to Hawaii next April, I guess we really like the ship lol!

I see you are from NB. What part? We live in Fredericton. Interesting to see you drove to NY for your cruise. We are thinking of doing the same after our next cruise. You know all about the high cost of flying out of NB or travel to Maine for a flight to Florida.

Looks like it might hit all of us on the northeastern sea coast. It could be snow instead of rain for us in Canada. They are calling it the Frankenstorm because it may collide with a early winter storm from the west to form a perfect storm.
Aren't you glad you sailed the week you did? Love the Miracle --our all time favorite Maitre'd was on Miracle --he was a nice looking "no hair" man like yourself.

We just got back from Destiny cruise Miami and had to rent a car to get home thanks to Sandy.

Hope everyone is safe post "Sandy"

We got up at 8:30 and went to the gym. It wasn’t very busy with fewer people than the day before. We were able to get treadmills immediately. We prefer to run outside but the running track is smaller than on the Conquest class ships that we have been on. It’s also busier with people walking and mini golf players.

When we were on Carnival Pride in January 2011, which is the same class of ship as the Miracle, we ran on the Sun Deck promenade that goes all around the ship. However on the Miracle it was much busier with people and loungers because of the warmer weather.

After our workout we went to the Bacchus Dining Room for brunch. I obviously ordered the Filet Mignon and Eggs again.

After brunch Tracy and I went to the same place on the Sport’s Deck to enjoy the sun. Arielle joined us a short time later.

Arielle loves to go down the water slides and I had made a commitment to myself that I would go water sliding with her. So for the first time in 8 cruises I asked her if she wanted to go down the water slide with me. She had a surprised look on her face that changed into a big smile. “YES”. So off we went with Tracy in tow to capture the moment. She was surprised too.

Here we are going up the waterslide stairs .

Then I invited Arielle to a game of chess after she had mentioned earlier that she had played with Mitchel. She was new to the game and I tried to give her facial hints when she made a bad move.

It was funny after a while because she would cautiously make a move and look at my facial expressions. If I frowned she would rethink the move and make another.

Then it was time to return to our cabin and get ready for our roll call cocktail party.

I’ve been teasing her a lot since she turned 40 a week before the cruise.

Glad you like it, sometimes I wonder if most people like the complete ship tour or not. :)

Mike, I'm another one of the Canuck "lurkers" who subscribes to every one of your reviews:). I really enjoy all of your reviews -- the complete ship tour, food porn, family photos, and port/scenic photos. You and your family have great attitudes and always seem to have a great time. I just may have to add the Miracle to my "next cruise" list when it moves to the West Coast. Looking forward to the rest of the review...

As mentioned earlier our cocktail party was organized by James and Kerry, a.k.a Kerryman50. They did such a wonderful job organizing the whole thing.

A few months back James took the reins on our roll call since he had organized a party on a previous cruise. He proposed we have a one or two hour cocktail party. The prices would be 1 hour, ages 21 and over $11.45 per person or 2 hours $19.55 per person, (15% Gratuity included). This would include “UNLIMITED” drinks and dry snacks.

We could request the first or second sea day. The majority voted for two hours on the second sea day.

Also the initial time given for the party by Carnival was 3 pm to 5 pm was changed to 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm after James made the request to the Carnival representative, so that some of us could attend the past guest party at 4:30 pm.

The nametags were made by Pam on our roll call. Very nice!

The party was held at Frankie & Johnnie’s Jazz Club.

The saying on her T-shirt along with “its 5 o’clock somewhere” or a variation of it became a saying for our group, for the rest of the cruise. Oh! Another one was “Sorry we’re late, we were brushing our teeth” (I sure you can figure that one out)

Besides the included tips with our bill, James passed a hat around and collected around $86 for Jessmina and Deana. They also received somes tips as they were serving drinks. Overall, over $100.

We had a wonderful time with lots of laughs and many new friends. We all decided that we would have another 1 hour party on the last sea day. It would be a nice way to say our goodbyes.
