mermaidIamNOT Posted November 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2012 I read many people saying the quickest way to get off a ship is self debarkation but I was wondering about those that don't take their bags off the ship themselves. Our flight isn't until 1:50pm so we'll probably be 2nd 3rd or 4th group off but I was just wondering what flight times might get a person into the 1st group if the ship docks at 8am. JohninDC Posted November 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2012 Before noon (or before 11:00 for those who live dangerously ). Have a good cruise! :)
skandls Posted November 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2012 When you get your departure luggage tags check the time on the info sheet that comes with them. If you want an earlier time go to guest services and request luggage tags for an earlier depature. The times for the tags are only guesstimates as the actual times depend on customs, immigration and other issues not under the control of the cruise line. Rawz Posted November 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Let me hijack please :D About self-debarkation, can be done with any type(size) of luggage? I just have to be able to carry it by myself, right? With this option, as soon as the announce about "gates open", my family can get to customs? Thanks for the info. You can self debark with your luggage. The elevators are usually very very busy and we have had to wait a long time for enough room for us and our luggage. On some ships you may have to carry your bags down stairs to get off the ship. So plan your time carefully. Also you need to check to see if this is available if you are not US citizens. Customs and immigration are different for foreign passport holders.
fireofficer5 Posted November 8, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2012 This is how it works. Once the passengers are allowed off the ship, all luggage is off the ship. Just walk off with the mob. All luggage has allready been sniffed by the dogs as well.

royalcruz Posted November 9, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 9, 2012 It doesn't seem like RCL assigns disembarkation times by flight times anymore based on our last 2 experiences. If someone is scheduled for a very early flight, the guest services desk is willing to exchange luggage tags though.
