are there particular days (at sea/port) and/or times to stay clear of breakfast buffets, MDR's or specialty restaurants? :) trying to decide which nights to book italian and cagney's and which mornings it's better to go to MDR than breakfast buffet...thanks!

On multiple ships, Cagney's has been nearly empty during the first hour it has been open regardless of the day of the week.

the morning, you get to belize, the buffet will be very busy. since it's a tender port, people get nervous about getting on the early tenders for their long excursions.

there are 2 MDRs, if one is busy try the other. usually they are the busiest when they first open.

otherwise the star has plenty of space for everyone, you shouldn't have any probems eating where you want/when you want.

ok, you never have to worry about the specialty dining rooms as they are limited to how many they will serve at any time to keep their reputation for offering outstanding service: the buffet is always crowded for breakfast from about 8am to 9am, of course port days are really a nightmare cause everyone is in a hurry to eat and get to shore. This is the perfect time to try the MDR for breakfast. I will tell you, from our experience this past week, the MDR for breakfast isn't the greatest, but it is basic and we certainly didn't go hungry..Have a great cruise.
