Do the taxi's not have meters?

Do the taxis not have meters? Seems it would be real easy to screw over a tourist if they don't go to a posted location.

I haven't seen a meter in a taxi in Mexico. That's why I like researching the places I go on Cruise Critic so I know how much the standard rate is.

 

Not sure how much regulation there is over the taxi industry there, but you never know.

Never seen a meter in a Coz cab -- the standard fares for up to 4 in a cab are poisted by the taxi line outside each pier area. Good luck! :)

No meters--always confirm your price before you get into the cab.

 

Coz has a very active taxi union and prices are posted at the pier, but if you are dropped off somewhere away from there you will not always have prices posted on how much it is to get back....just confirm with the driver and you won't have any problems.

Fares are posted on the fare board. Return fare should be same cost. We always confirm fare upon entering each way and have had no problems.
