Crown and Anchor teams up with M Life is official!

Recommended Posts

Can you tell me where/how you got your D+ cards MLife is asking for ? We have not received any that I know of.

Thank you

M Life didn't ask for the cards, I am bringing them with to prove we are D+, sort of like ammunition for my argument of their email that states we would be platinum. :D

I honestly can't remember when we received the D+ package.

I want to say it was about 3 months after becoming D+.... a few years ago.

C& A has a history of not being consistent with their mailings of that!!!

When you become D+, you're supposed to receive (in the mail) a package that consists of the D+ pins, permanent plastic luggage tags, and credit card sized plastic ID cards that say Diamond Plus with your name and C&A number.

If you never got this, try calling C&A.

Thank you Bob, we just got D+ on the New Years cruise. I am sure the cards are probably on the way by now. I will call them in a couple of weeks if nothing comes by then.

For any of you who have spoken to someone at M Life or C&A, do you know if you can use the perks on already booked cruises? We have a cruise planned for end of March and I'm just curious if we can use the 10 free drink vouchers on that cruise (we are Platinum M Life)? Also, this is our first RC cruise, do we automatically get C&A status?

Also, does anyone know if you get to use your M Life card in the slots at the RC casino?

Any additional info is appreciated!

I would like to know more details on that as well. Specifically, does it give you Platinum Mlife card from here on out, or only for a limited period of time. Once D+ has been achieved, it is kept, that's the nature of Royal's program.

For the Mlife program, earning that Platinum card is an annual event - no resting on ones laurels. Starting on October 1st every player has one year to meet the minimum requirements again (200,000 tier credits), at which point your tier credits are reset to zero.

To have an outside program which gives people (not even necessarily moderate gamblers) a Platinum card - on and on - would be quite the perk. At least for those who frequent Vegas!

Another point.... once a D+ has been given a Platinum card, are THEY then eligible for a free cruise with Royal the same way people who have earned the Platinum card with Mlife are? (never thought of that one before ;) )

I think that due to the "newness" of the program, all of the details are not completely understood by those persons who are helping us to register/book/status/ect. Probably after the roll out event in Vegas is when MLife should be more responsive to their guests relating to perks and benefits with RCCL & MGM partnership.

Hi Tom - that's sort of what I was getting at too. I know that typically we will reset to 0 for Oct. 1. But now that I will automatically be gold (I think... I am diamond on Royal), what will I need to do to earn my way back up to platinum? Will I need to work up from 0 or will I need to earn up from 75,000 (I think thatI remember that that's how many tier credits Gold is??). I doubt it would work that way (I can imagine them saying something like I am not 'actually' gold, just receiving gold benefits haha), but it would be a huge advantage to be automatically almost halfway to platinum!!! I can't wait to see how this all irons out! ;)

Katie,

My mom is platinum in M life and we called their dedicated reservation line, gave them our reservation number and was told we would receive all of the benefits on our upcoming cruise! It is also nice that we will be able to use these perks on every royal cruise we go on!

Also, based on my mothers current play and "point level" she is eligible for a free 3 night Bahamas cruise on the enchantment leaving every Friday from May onwards !

Love these little perks!

They will give out a free cruise to MLife Platinum? Since MLife counts total spend towards status, you could get a free cruise without doing too much gambling. I'll probably make Gold in MLife later this year and I'm a very low level player.

Also, Saphire is the lowest level. Any random person gets that just for signing up.

my mom goes to Vegas twice a year and plays penny machines on min bet... and has achieved platinum for three years consecutively. She stays at the Luxor where the payouts are higher and more frequent (so she says :P). I think the free cruise is a wonderful perk for something that she is going to do anyway!

indeed.

I dunno if I can get Platinum on MLife, though. I would need more than two trips to LAS per year.

That would be nice, huh? I asked the same thing about Crown&Anchor. I had one sailing on the Sovereign previously which converted to 15 points under their current system. Being Elite with Celebrity bumped me up to Diamond with C&A, yet I am still at 15 points - and need to earn up to the actual points of D+ to attain that level. I would imagine that it's the same with Mlife, you'll probably have to earn the full 200,000 to make Platinum with them.

I think it is important to define who "they" is. Are free cruises coming from C&A or from Casino Royale [the organization for frequent gamblers on RCI]? If you are in a regular cabin, you have to cruise for more than two years worth of nights to get to 750 points for your first free C&A cruise. Hard to believe that the reported two visits to LV on penny slots would get you a free cruise from C&A. Having had courses in statics, I only gamble when the odds are in my favor [$5 plus a match play on an even bet on Roulette has an expectation value of $7.105] and then walk away, it is highly:rolleyes: unlikely that Casino Royale will be giving me a free cruise, but slightly possible that I might make t from D+ to Pinnacle someday and get a free cruise from C&A.

Well that's all she plays...she has been able to keep her status for three years...

I am not sure as to who is giving out the cruises but when we called we were taking to an m life representative.

I don't ask questions I just reap the rewards- a free cruise every year plus 10 free drink tickets as well as a free dinner in a specialty restaurant...just to name a few!

By Royal giving (through their casino department) a "free" cruise to Platinum and Noir Mlife card holders, they are banking that it's an investment - hoping to pull some gamblers into their casino.

If those people are not already cruising on Royal Caribbean, then I think it's probably a good thing for Royal - certainly a fair portion of those people are "players" and may end up losing thousands.

In my case, I was going to sail Royal Caribbean anyway, but am happy to take the benefit for a short (being "only" Platinum) sailing.

Penny slots can cost a lot of money to play. Frequently north of $3 a spin on max credit. And they tend to have the biggest house edge.

I'm just going by what has been reported here. Mlife Platinum gets a free cruise. You can get Mlife tier points (how they rank people in their program) from more than just gambling. It's total spend. That's how I get mine. You can get to Platinum without doing too much gambling. Just spend a lot at the MGM properties.

Believe me, I too find it hard to believe it's as simple as MLife platinum == Free Cruise. I would THINK "they" (whoever is giving the cruise) would look a bit more deeply at your activity with MGM than just tier points. But maybe they won't.

I'm sure that Royal will be looking very closely at the play of those given the free sailings. If, on average, it falls below expectations - I would expect changes in the future. Knowing rewards programs, I am sure we all expect change to begin with!

Yep - those playing slots, by the time they play max credits, can really drop some "coin"!

How many tier credits does spending $1,000 earn (is food and retail calculated differently) with Mlife?

My friend and I are trying to figure what we can work out. She is Platinum Mlife and never sailed. I will be Emerald C&A but no MLife. If she gets a free cruise, how do we book the cruise to share a room. Will we each get different perks (not that Emerald really has much) but she will get free specialty dinner & drinks and I will have to pay to have dinner with her. Oh...how confusing! lol

I'm not entirely sure how they calculate the tier points based on room, food and bev., etc. I am pretty sure that my points had re-set back to zero before my most recent stay back in November. I had three nights at Aria and with the room charge, some bar tabs, meals, etc. my folio came out to $981. I went home with 56,000 points or so on my MLife. Of course, there was some gambling, but not tons. (when I play penny slots, I DO tend to play max credit, like I do with all slot play). There would have been some points from Foursquare checkins too.

Gold is in easy reach. it's only 75,000 tier points. Platinum is much harder. 200,000. I won't hit it doing my normal routine. I would need probably 4 trips a year to Las Vegas at my current spending and play levels to get that.

You're along for the ride. Her perk is for TWO people in a cabin. She can bring along anyone. Also, the free dinner is for two!

ENJOY
