Crown and Anchor teams up with M Life is official!

Recommended Posts

I'm not entirely sure how they calculate the tier points based on room, food and bev., etc. I am pretty sure that my points had re-set back to zero before my most recent stay back in November. I had three nights at Aria and with the room charge, some bar tabs, meals, etc. my folio came out to $981. I went home with 56,000 points or so on my MLife. Of course, there was some gambling, but not tons. (when I play penny slots, I DO tend to play max credit, like I do with all slot play). There would have been some points from Foursquare checkins too.

Gold is in easy reach. it's only 75,000 tier points. Platinum is much harder. 200,000. I won't hit it doing my normal routine. I would need probably 4 trips a year to Las Vegas at my current spending and play levels to get that.

Yes - it's tough to calculate when it comes from mixed sources, and Mlife is not very good about letting people know how they go about calculating things. Made three pilgrimages out there last year - the first was Bellagio and the last two trips were at Aria (love that place).

yup.. It's complicated and "secret". Intentionally so, I think. I don't worry about it too much, though. I suppose I could simply look at my Mlife tier points balance just before I check out. Then, check out and wait to see what it jumps up to. I didn't really do that last time. Or maybe I sorta did, but don't know the exact number. I just know that my spend is where I am getting the bulk of my points.

Anyone have the list for what different Mlife levels get you with Royal?

I am Platinum with Mlife and was told that it was good for a 4-5 night Royal cruise (Oceanview) where I just pay fees/taxes.

Thus my real question is - for those who are D+ with Royal (that level is retained, and does not have to be re-earned each year), when they receive the Platinum Mlife card, is that for a year or for "life" (they need not meet the recurring annual requirements of Mlife to retain).

Speaking as someone who, through Mlife, had to WORK at reaching and keeping that level - I have my own feelings on that! ;)

Tom

I was thinking the same thing. I can imagine Platinum members being upset at seeing these Royal people get the status and keeping it forever

well, I guess it's not all that secret. I was able to find it on the FAQ page on the MLife site

You earn Tier Credits for virtually every dollar you spend - including gaming - across all our M life resorts. For every dollar you spend on your hotel stay, dining, entertainment, or spa you earn Tier Credits - in Las Vegas you earn 25 Tier Credits per dollar spent; at Beau Rivage, Gold Strike Tunica, and MGM Grand Detroit you earn 8 Tier Credits per dollar spend.

For slot play in Las Vegas M life casinos, you receive ten (10) Tier Credits for every Base Point earned. When playing at Beau Rivage or Gold Strike Tunica, you receive two (2) Tier Credits for every Base Point earned. At MGM Grand Detroit, you receive one (1) Tier Credit for every Base Point earned. For table games, you'll earn Tier Credits based on length of play, average bet, and game type.

To ensure Tier Credits are credited to your M life account, always use your M life card while playing slots and table games at any participating MGM Resorts International destination. Also, show your M life card at the time of each qualifying purchase, or charge these purchases to your room and present your M life card to the Front Desk at the beginning of your stay.

Man, quite a discrepancy in terms of how they value play in Vegas vs. Biloxi (Beau Rivage)! Biloxi used to be a short (well, 300 mile!) drive. Now it's 600 - so no longer an easy drive. Oh well!!

We are Diamond Plus members who live in Las Vegas. Several days ago I called the Mlife number to inquire about the procedure to get the Platinum Mlife card and was told the best way was to visit an mlife desk at one of the MGM resorts. DH and I went over to the Bellagio today, taking the email we got from RCL, our Diamond Plus cards and our current MGM players card(which were not Platinum). Glad we took everything as the lady at the desk initially didn't know anything about the deal with RCL. After looking at the email and checking with a supervisor she gave each of us our new Mlife Platinum cards.

One of the benefits mentioned in the email was a 15% discount at participating retail stores. I made a purchase in one of the Bellagio gift shops called Tutto, showed the lady my Platinum card and received the 15% discount.

Nice

Did you go an get line cutties at the Cafe Bellagio or Buffet too? We used a friend's Gold card to get a line cut at Cafe Bellagio back in November. Saved us a wait. It was nice. :)

Didn't eat at either today, but we will definitely take advantage of the line passes when we do. We walked by the buffet around noon and it must have been a slow day at the resort as there was no line to get in.

I went to the MLife desk at the MGM today and a great gal named Rachel hooked us up and gave us our Platinum cards. I didn't have my C&A card but I did have the email on my phone and she accepted that. She said they are getting lots of C&A members in. She also said that she noted on the accounts that we are Platinum through C&A as their system only reflects the appropriate point status with them, which or us is only the first level Sapphire.

What's the expiration date that they printed on your cards, and did they mention anything about what happens after that??

That's what I want to know. Since C&A status doesn't expire, this could work out nicely for C&A members that could potentially get lifetime mid to high'ish MLife status.

Of course, it doesn't work so well the other way around.

You'll have to wait around long enough until there's a line so that you can make full use of that perk! :D

yeah.. you gotta cut a big line. That makes it more fun.

In November, we stayed at Aria. But instead of eating breakfast at Aria's cafe/coffee shop, we went over to Bellagio because they really don't have much of a line at Aria. Cafe Bellagio had a decent line for the regular folks. But the MLife gold card let us bypass all of that.

Cafe Bellagio -- very nice place, eaten there many times. Something about a nice rare hamburger at 2 am (especially when it's a free burger)! :D

We drive to Laughlin and Vegas all the time, it is a nice drive plenty of mountains and desert.

M Life still won't take our C&A numbers, they keep telling me that it will depend on our casino play. So when we go next month I will bring our D+ C&A cards and see what happens.

I am diamond plus but I don't have a card that says that, I only have my C&A number. Where did you get the card? I called C&A and they said they did not have cards. Oh well, we are heading to Vegas soon also, can't wait to see if D+ gets me anything. I also called and they would not take my number over the phone. I guess it all depends on who you talk to.

As a Harrahs Diamond member, we have a complimentary lounge in the evenings that serve drinks and appetizers....Does M Life offer anything

like that to its Platinum members?

Not that I'm aware of. Of course, I don't pay much attention to that. On Celebrity they always have early evening events for Elite guests which we have never attended.

There is no expiration date on the new platinum card...same Mlife number that we had on the old card. When I went to our online Mlife account earlier it still showed us at the old level....will see what it shows tomorrow.

We were just in Vegas for the Superbowl. We went to the mlife desk in Mirage, told them we received an email from RCI ( we are Diamond on RCI). He took my drivers license entered info in computer and gave us our cards. No expiration date and we didn't need our C&A numbers or cards. :)

I suppose it makes sense that they've forgone the expiration date on the new cards since all cards technically expire on September 30th now rather than based on when some of your old TC's might have dropped off. Certainly easier now to know when that occurs!

Of course, using the card to jump to the front of a taxi line or as a line pass at the cafe or buffet never involved them looking closely at the card (more of an honor system). Using it in shops for the % discount however does require a current card, or at least your current standing as they look that up in their system. We've saved a few hundred more than once with that perk alone, so even though it may not sound like a lot, it can add up - especially when you spy a nice shiny something through a store window!

There are VIP lounges at each major MGM resort casino strip property but with the exception of Aria and Bellagio they don't usually have any snacks, or liquor, instead they offer soft drinks, water, coffee, tea and a faster check in and check out area. VIP lounges are not automatically open to any card level except NOIR, usually your offer from the casino will let you know if you have access though if you know where they are located you usually can just walk in and take a water, coffee or soft drink.

wow..so i guess on the reverse side...what as being a current mlife member get me on the ship extra? I have seen people talking about freebies and coupons but where are they getting these? we don't have an mgm property close to us

A mailer has been sent out to M-Life members letting them know about the partnership and what their level gets them with RCCL. If you haven't received one yet, it should hopefully be in the mail to you soon.

Levels above Platinum with M-Life do not get that much so I'm not going to list those perks here.

Platinum level gets a free 3, 4 or 5 day cruise on select RCCL ships. 10 drink vouchers for use in the casino, priority wait list, onboard departure access, one free specialty restaurant, onboard entertainment tour, and welcome amenity.

NOIR gets one free 7 day Caribbean cruise with balcony cabin, 15 drink vouchers for use in the casino, and the perks that Platinum level gets, along with 60 free minutes of Internet usage.

Since I'm currently NOIR level with M-Life I'm happy with the new partnership. :)
