The Ma'am's Star Western Caribbean Review with Pictures!

My husband has heard about a drink card, like a soda card you can buy. Does anyone have experience with that? I just wonder if it will be worth it. Seems like you might have to drink an awful lot!

I don't have experience with the drink program, but you can use the search feature to find threads about it; it has been discussed many times. I do know that every adult in the cabin has to get it. Sorry, that's about it, though, besides the fact that I thought it was more than I would spend a day on drinks.

Here is a thread that I think might help you (or confuse you ) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1802390&highlight=drink+package

Hope this helps.

Thanks, we found out.....and there is no way it will be worth it to us!! I don't think I would drink that much in a week's time, much less per day :)

I know what you mean, me either! I do enjoy doing the martini tastings they offer, though. My DH was saying something tonight about that is the most he's ever seen me drink at one stretch!

I haven't been on here since, I think 3/28, the night before my foot surgery. Imagine my surprise at having to go to page 12 to find our review again! :(

Just wanted to say we are here for any cruisers who might want info or have questions on this itinerary/ports/Star.

Take care of the foot...must have been too much excercise in port! Thanks to the Sister posting , my daughter and I had a fantastic Star cruise mar 17th. Your pictures were wonderful, and promise your Man anything in order to go on the next cruise.;) We are booked in Owners Suite Dec7th 2014. Spoiled Women we are. Oh...on the Star.

Thanks, rowdyrosie, my foot is improving. Still spending too many hours at work, though; it was throbbing for a full two hours before I left today.

I appreciate that you and your daughter benefited from our review; that was the intention.

Still working on finding a way to tell DH

Just thought I'd let you know I talked DH into it, rowdyrosie. Not only that but we also have our next one booked and he's even excited about this one.

I managed to one-finger type this from my phone!

I have been reading your latest review, I have a good friend going on the Jewel next week and you really answered questions. You are the best,to take time to answer my question.

We are waiting for our Dec7th 2014 cruise.

You're welcome, rowdyrosie; I'm so jealous of your friend, I have the post-cruise blues really bad right now!:(:(:(

Yesterday I was thinking about the difference between the captains of our Star cruise and our Jewel cruise. See posts 194 and 195 on this thread, our pictures with the captain.

The captain on the Star was very visible; he came to our Meet & Greet, and he hosted the bridge tour, staying the whole time, answering questions and posing for pictures with passengers.

On the Jewel, the captain did not attend the Meet & Greet, and was not present for the bridge tour.

I'm not saying one was better than the other, but I prefer a captain who is present and available. To me, seems more like the attitude of NCL as a whole.
