Searched the forum but found old threads specifically on this subject so I thought I would through it out to all the experts.

Staying in London in August and interested in cruise/lunch/dinner ? day/evening?

Any recommendations?

Many thanks!

Hi Nancy,

You have lots of options. :)

We have done several river cruises from London. There is a variety of cruises (sightseeing, lunch, tea, dinner, Greenwich)

Our favorite cruise was the river cruise to Hampton Court:

We also really enjoyed the cruise to Greenwich:

In looking at the website for river cruises to Hampton Court, I'm not sure I understand--is there a direct cruise to HC or do you have to disembark at Kew and board another boat? thanks for all answers! shelly

Same boat, it makes a stop at Kew. Some sailings only go as far as Kew. The journey to Hampton Court takes over three hours, so it may make sense to take the train one way and get more time there.

If you don't know London well, don't do a dinner cruise unless it's in June or early July. If it's dark out, you really won't see very much from inside, but as it's a dinner cruise you won't really want to spend all your time outside, not eating.

Thanks for your post, Cotswold Eagle. :) You reminded me ....

I had neglected to mention that we took the train one way and cruised the other way. Had ample time to visit Hampton court... an outstanding venue!!! We were last there in 2010 ... 501 years after Henry VIII's accession to the throne.
