debriz@aol.com Posted January 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Hi-I'm new to this forum and need help finding the right cruise line for my husband and I. We are in our late 40's and want a 7-10 day cruise on a smaller upscale ship. No families. Ours are away! It's our 20th anniversary and we wanted to concentrate on Spain/France/Italy all options. No Greece, been there. We are flexible but looking for upscale and guidance w/the cruise lines and room categorys. Money isn't a concern but comfort is. My husband suffers a bit w/motion. I don't do well in the xtreme heat we only have a small window to travel july 1st thru the 19th. Our travel agent suggested Silver wind but the reviews were mixed and most of the better suites are wait listed on the web. Help pleassssssssssse

Even by choosing an upscale line unless it is adult only I would think that there would be children and families on board a European cruise especially in the summer. debriz@aol.com Posted January 31, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I wasn't being literal. I don't think someone w/a two year old would choose the same type of cruise I'm looking for. I LIKE kids just was trying to give info regarding our needs. Kids can be on the ship.
Rare printingchick Posted January 31, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2013 As your TA and Karysa suggested, you'd probably be looking for one of the more upscale lines that sail very small vessels and target passengers seeking a more luxury-focused experience. I'd venture to guess that most of the posters here are more experienced with the mainstream cruise lines. Your travel agent is undoubtedly your best place to start. Once you narrow the field, you could post on the boards for the specific lines you're considering for more input.
crafty sue Posted January 31, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2013 I Think P & O have one of their ships as Adult Only, and worth checking out if you book the best suite you can afford I am sure you will enjoy them.

aohkay Posted January 31, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Oceania is a premium line, with very few children on board (they don't offer children's programs). The food is very good (specialy restaurants included) and the service is excellent.
