Toulon Shore Excursion - Norwegian Spirit

Our cruise on the Norwegian Spirit in April,2013 stops in Toulon. We need advise what to do for Excursion? Should we do from NCL or private tour or do it own our own? If we do it ourshelve where do we go?

we did a private tour with provencewinetours

as the name implies it was a visit to 3 wineries in the region and a visit to Cassis a fishing village popular with tourists

we were in an 8 seater minivan which we filled from our roll call but if you have a smalller group they have the option to fill the vacant seats with other people[strangers]

 

we thoroughly enjoyed the day

We went on the ship's tour to Aix. It was a Sunday but there was plenty to see. Worth the $50 or so that it cost. Here are some pictures.
