Great pictures Kruzseeka. It all looks very nice and takes me back to April last year. OMG though! Apart from my obsession with cleaning tv remote controls I got a new one last year. Your photo of the jacuzzi reminded me of the day we had lunch right next to it and a peeling, sunburnt man got in and started scratching off his skin right into the water. Never, ever, will I go in one of those again. Talk about putting me off my lunch.

Hi Linda, I thought you were still suffering. I was reading a review of the Majesty the other day and they mentioned the cough and advised passengers to take some cough syrup which is what I will do.:):)

I think I got the cough on the plane - it was so hot and so many people coughing! Mind your there were a few coughing on the ship too. I suppose it is just a hazzard of going in the winter

I must say that the Dream is looking good :) I'm glad they have re-carpetted the corridors. I thought someone had said that they hadn't been done

Glad you have booked the Majesty. I hope you like it after all my raving about it:eek::eek:

Please ignore this comment, think I have worked it out. Just getting used to the site lol

Well done, it's always interesting to see where people are going.:):) Please remember to delete it later when you've returned as I've seen as many as 10 left on, it causes so much scrolling down my tracking pad is worn out, lol.:):)

I don't think the air con helps, especially when we've been cooped up all winter. I am paranoid though, I walk swiftly away when someone sneezes in a shop. lol.:D:D

Yes I was going to ask you if you still had the instructions, but obviously Gavin is cleverer than us, working out how to do it by himself.

Yes, I do have them filed away in my cruise file. Been watching Casualty though and getting grandson to bed, so pleased he found out himself.

Lol, as you know I haven't done one for a bit. You never lose it.:D:D

While we're at it, isn't it about time you spring cleaned your past cruise list? Ouch! lol.

Done it right?... These are the best & most informative set of pictures I have seen. On the grounds of “a picture is worth a thousand words”, there should be a permanent link to them on here somewhere in the “stickies”. There is even a picture to answer the regular questions about how much the internet is, & the cabin pictures are better than Thomson’s…… See what people mean about not much in the way of draw space though.

On behalf of all those looking to go on the Dream for the first time, thanks Kruzseeka for going to all that trouble for us. :):):)

You are very welcome and if it helps people make informed decisions then I'm very pleased to have done it. At the end of the day we all have different opinions and preferences but as you say a picture does help you see what you can expect at least in terms of the ship itself - its design and facilities. I'm only sorry that I missed some which which would have have highlighted some other areas. And I felt certain I'd taken a picture of the duty free prices - but can I find it? DH is sure I did too - he was with me but I've scoured my pics three times and can't find it!

Yes the drawer space in the standard cabins on Dream is limited (Spirit and Celebration are fantastic - I never fill them!). It's fine for smalls (there is a small three drawer chest) and the two bedside drawers and space underneath are good for bits and pieces but there are no drawers really big enough for T-shirts etc.

I ask for spare hangers and then hang as much up as possible but find that the shelf at the bottom of the wardrobe useful for sweaters etc - after I've cleaned it with antiseptic wipes! (I'm sure some people will use these for shoes).

I also take half a dozen skirt/trouser hangers with me too and manage quite well. Although not as nearly as good as Celebration/Spirit for storage it is significantly better than the standard cabins on Majesty.

As for the re-furb I agree that's it's been very hyped up and has lead to unrealistic expectations - I think it's been misleading. However if you just look at it as an extensive face-lift (which was needed) then I think it's achieved that and the ship looks good.

The carpet in the self-service areas is still to be replaced and in parts looks like it needs doing but on the whole I think there is significant improvement which is welcome. The shabby carpets have been replaced and there are some nice new touches like the canopy on the Lido deck and furniture there and the way they have made the Grill look and feel very different at night.

Perhaps because of what I'd read I had a good idea of what to expect and didn't arrive and get a 'Wow' response but nevertheless liked what I saw very much.

Yes, K8TI joe's right they have seating areas for wheelchair users. The rows of cinema style seating are only at the back of the theatre and there is room to get around quite well in the main body of the theatre. The advantage of the cinema seating is that you can pretty well guarantee getting in to the shows - they provide a very large number of seats. Most people will sit in the seats further forward (many of them sofa-style) but those in rows are a boon in terms of capacity.

Incidentally, there were a few people in wheelchairs on board (some obviously using Thomson's chairs) but I did notice an electric chair and another which was clearly the passenger's own on board too.

K8TI I must tell you that those pics were taken as we arrived when there weren't too many people on board and being changeover day many passengers would have been taken off to the airport so it's not totally representative of the sunbed situation! Ther are quite a few sunbed areas though and the situation wasn't as bad as some I've seen - but would of course be cured by a determined 'No saving beds' policy.

Joe - that will be really helpful if you can fill in the gaps. I thought I'd covered most areas but it was only when I downloaded them I could see the omissions. Off the top of my head missing from my collection are the the Orion, the cushioned sofas and low whicker style armchairs on the Lido deck, the newly carpeted corridors (what a difference!), the Grill at night and the casino!

Have a great time and take the photos early on before you lapse like I did into such a relaxed state that you forget everything else! :D

Enjoy! :)

That gives a great insight thank you. We are all looking forward to our holiday. It is the first time my sister has ever cruised and i just want to be able to reassure her that she'll be fine. A smile holiday for all of us.:) As for towels on sunbeds. Well after a break for lunch, say an hour. towels should be removed. It is just rude! grrrrr

Frazer Ellacott said plans were being made to prevent people from saving sun beds, so is nothing being done yet?
