SuperGrace2002 Posted March 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2013 Due to price drops i have OBC before i cruise. I am looking at booking an excrusion at HMC online is there a way to use my OBC to pay for that - or do i have to pay for excrusions with my visa? Or is it best to wait until i am on the ship to book the excrusion to use that OBC? Sorry for all the questions I have been asking lately - first cruise will be in April :D thanks agian
siestakeys04 Posted March 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2013 If I am not mistaken you have to purchase excursions onboard to use your OBC. If you don't want to wait then use your credit card.

firefly333 Posted March 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2013 thats why I wait until Im onboard to book my excursions. I once passed up a 15% off code to purchase onboard to use my OBC. I go to book as soon as Im onboard to make sure it doesnt sell out.
CupKayke Posted March 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2013 The only way to use your onboard credit to purchase an excursion is to wait until you are actually on the ship. The price may be a bit higher on the ship, btw. :)
candipinki Posted March 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2013 Has anyone tried to book immediately when they got on the ship but the tour has been already sold out? This is the first time I'm cruising where you could buy excursions ahead of time...
CatlinSTJ Posted April 8, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2013 I was thinking of doing the same. It doesn't make sense that we can't use the money to purchase the excursion ahead of time since they already have the money. I'd hate to use my credit card to make an additional purchase when we already have a pretty large OBC.
TravelingAPor Posted April 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2013 How do I get a 15% discount booking excursions? Is there a discount to book my excursions before I cruise? I thought I read, just this, in this thread. Please advice...

I'd hate to use my credit card to make an additional purchase when we already have a pretty large OBC. Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong. We always book private tours because of the monetary savings. On our last several cruises with X, we had very substantial OBC amounts. We simply went to the casino and cashed in our entire OBC amount for cash. There was a 10% fee to do this but all the extra green backs was a nice take home gift. I am assuming that this can be done on CCL also as an option?

I have over 4 weeks left till we cruise, so maybe.

Is that possible?
