Due to price drops i have OBC before i cruise. I am looking at booking an excrusion at HMC online is there a way to use my OBC to pay for that - or do i have to pay for excrusions with my visa?

Or is it best to wait until i am on the ship to book the excrusion to use that OBC?

Sorry for all the questions I have been asking lately - first cruise will be in April :D

thanks agian

  • 3 weeks later...

I was thinking of doing the same. It doesn't make sense that we can't use the money to purchase the excursion ahead of time since they already have the money. I'd hate to use my credit card to make an additional purchase when we already have a pretty large OBC.

Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.

We always book private tours because of the monetary savings.

On our last several cruises with X, we had very substantial OBC amounts. We simply went to the casino and cashed in our entire OBC amount for cash. There was a 10% fee to do this but all the extra green backs was a nice take home gift. I am assuming that this can be done on CCL also as an option?

Has anyone tried to book immediately when they got on the ship but the tour has been already sold out?

This is the first time I'm cruising where you could buy excursions ahead of time...

I noticed some excursions on my sailings are already sold out.

I have over 4 weeks left till we cruise, so maybe.

Might be a bit messy, but maybe you could book the excursions using your credit card to 'bag' your trip, then once onboard cancel and re-purchase using your onboard credit if you are within the correct time frame for cancelling?

Is that possible?
