Legend of the Seas Borneo Cruise March 2013 Picture Review

Recommended Posts

After a 15 minute ride back to mainland, we boarded the waiting coach and started the long ride back to the ship. The traffic was very heavy as we got into Puerto Princesa. Closer to the ship, we had Police escort, who cleared the way for the 2-3 buses in the convoy. We got back to the ship at about 6pm. It was a long day.

We were very full after our mains and there was no way we could finish the desserts. Rather than let them go to waste, our waitress kindly offered to put them in a plate, to-go, so that we can let our kids have some. So remember, if you are too full after your Chops Dinner, you can ask your waiter or waitress to pack it for you.

It was a fantastic dinner. Would we do it again? Definitely!

The Sous Chef, an Indian national, came out to chat with us. He told us he was looking after Chops and the Park Cafe, and he had just moved from the biggest ship in the fleet (Allure) to the smallest ship in the fleet (Legend!). He came onboard at the beginning of this year, even before the dry dock. I was very happy that Royal Caribbean wisely sent an experienced chef from their best ship to start up Chops in the newly revitalized Legend.

Thank you so much for such great review with so many pictures. I think so many of us been waiting for a review after the ship been on dry dock. Every one who never tried Park Cafe you will LOVE it. We were on the Oasis and they have Park Cafe. We loved every thing it offered. One question please. We love live entertainment. I see that the Centrum has a band. Do they have a nightly entertainment? Do they have places to sit on higher deck so you can sit and watch? We were on the Radiance few years back and spend few hours almost every revenging watching live music different singers....guitarist and people were dancing. it was a lot of fun to watch. We sat on one deck higher and had great view. We would get their early to get a sit. Does the Legend offer something of the same? Thanks once again for all the great informations.

Glad you liked it.

Yes, there was plenty of live music on this ship, far more than what we experienced on the Voyager back in Dec 12. There would be live music in the Centrum, from the afternoons and also in the evenings after dinner time.

And yes, people were dancing.

And yes, there were seats at Deck 5 (Centrum on Deck 4) where people could sit down and watch the proceedings. Very lively atmosphere.

Finally! Another oh-so-scarce review of the Legend. Thank you so much for posting pictures of and information about the ship. We sail on her next April (2014) on a full transit of the Panama Canal so I'm looking for as much information as I can find. After reading your experience with the Chef's Table, we just might have to try that.

Thank you!!!

Glad you liked the review so far.

I reckon the Chef's Table is worth trying at least once.

We may do it again too.

Thank you so much for your in depth review. LOVE the pictures. We will be doing a B2B (21 glorious nights!) in Jan/Feb/2014. Can't wait to have the roast beef sandwiches. Do you know if the Park Cafe had the black forest cake? It is one of my favorite. Haven't had it since on the Allure in Oct/2011! Thanks again sooo much for taking the time to post all your GREAT PICTURES!

I can't recall whether the Park Cafe had the black forest cake. I wasn't paying too much attention to the desserts at the Park Cafe during this cruise. I guess there was just so much to eat!
