Extra day in Miami

Hello everyone!

My DH and I will be in Miami May 24th (the day we return from our Carnival cruise) which also happens to be DH's 30th birthday!

I've been to Miami several times, but for some reason have vacation amnesia as to what I've done there besides drive around and ogle big houses and celebrities (Jason Segel!):o

Does anyone have any recommendations for something we could do that day/night?

Money isn't really an issue, we're both 30ish and we're adventurous but we also love relaxing by the water. We both drink, we're adventurous eaters we love music and animals. We're scuba divers, but don't plan on diving while on this trip.

One of the things I've been looking at is the Jai Alai complex in Miami, has anyone ever been there?

I've been to Jungle Island and the Seaquarium. Just looking for some recommendations on something different, fun and memorable.

Thanks so much in advance! :D

The obvious answer for someone your age is head to South Beach.

You could head to Hollywood Beach/broadwalk if you haven't been. The Hard Rock Casino?

Where will you spending the night? Car?

We're staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay. I haven't decided on a car yet. The other times I've been there I've had a car and barely used it.

We did South Beach the first time we were in Miami, and neither of us were super impressed. We're not very glamorous people.

The Brickell area of Miami is fun at night and a lot more low key than South Beach. Mary Brickell Village is fun place to go to. Plenty of places for cocktails in the area!

Vizcaya is pretty to see. Key Biscayne is beautiful and Bill Baggs state park is really nice. Great biking and walking trails.

The Jai Alai fronton in Miami is out near the airport. I have found it enjoyable, but it has a very 1950s feel and the bettors tend to be older. I have not been there in about a year now. From the local billboards, they are trying to convert it into a Jai Alai fronton/casino with slot machines.
