tony51372 Posted June 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2005 This was one of the worst cruise experiences I have ever had. I took my 80 year-old grandmother for one last cruise, before she is able to travel again. The food was horrible. The only good meal that we had was at Portifono's (after the $20.00 service charge) and that was the last night on board. The wait to find a seat at the Windjammer was long most of the time and the food was the same almost everyday. The ship was very crowded and the entertainment was just "okay". Boarding and departing the the ship the first and last day was a long, tiring experience to say the least and that was after we were able to locate our luggage amongst the thousands of others. The lines to embark and depart were very long for an 80 year-old woman, who I felt very bad for. Overall, I am very disappointed and will never sail with Royal Caribbean again!! Erie Dave Posted June 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Good, more room for the rest of us. Please go away Tony, and don't come back. Your first post is a dead give away to your intentions.
jwlane Posted June 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Another good reason not to let 80-yr olds cruise.
Hypo Posted June 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2005 On the explorer, several years ago there was a couple who were well past their eighties. They were the life of the ship, dancing in the VC, invited up on stage at most of the shows, dancing in the aisles in the main showroom. If we didn't know better would have thought they were "Krooze Komics" or a plant. They were on something like their 56th cruise with RCCL. They put us 50 somethings to shame! mark
lovetocruiserccl Posted June 19, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Did you have any fun. The ship holds 3000+ did you think there would be no lines. Better planning on your part next time.

MOZISME Posted June 19, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The Fact That You Would Go On Cruise Shipped Advertised As The "largest Cruise Ship In The World" With An 80 Year Old Person Is Truely Questionable!?! Expecting It To Be Quiet, Not Crowded? This Must Have Been Planned By Ashton Kutcher, 'cuz I Think You Just Got Punk'ed...

Cruiser_Guy Posted June 19, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 19, 2005 What made you come to this board after your cruise to complain? How did you find it? Most people usually find this board before they cruise.

colette5479 Posted June 19, 2005 #12 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Was there anything positive about this whole experience? Your stateroom? The room steward? The ports of call? The casino? Any excursions? Please understand that CC members like reviews that point out BOTH positive and negative. The problems you listed are common that seasoned travelers (or even newbies that found CC before their cruise) know and understand. I'm sorry you did not have a good time but a vacation is what you make of it...and it sounds as if you chose to dwell on everything negative. Sorry:o
