Irons ...

Hi there, quick question - are there irons in the balcony rooms of NCL ships? We are on the breakaway next week and have a family balcony. Wanted to see if there were irons on the ship or if we had to bring something with us? Thanks!

 

Also - there are no fridges in balcony rooms?

Irons aren't in the cabins and you aren't allowed to bring your own.

 

You can however request an iron from the room steward. It will be collected when you're done.

There are no irons in the cabins of any NCL ship (probably also true of any cruise ship anywhere in the world)...they are a fire hazard. You are not allowed to bring one on board. If you try it will be confiscated. In the past NCL has allowed you to borrow an iron for a limited period of time and I assume you still can. Request one from guest services or your steward.

 

There are small refrigerators.

I've not been on the Breakaway, but all the other ships I've been on, yes, fridges in the rooms. I'll assume Breakaway has them also. The fridge will be stocked with a pricy mini bar. However, your room steward will remove all that stuff for you if you wish. Or, I just remove it myself and tell the room steward.

Thanks all for the (very helpful) tips. I remember on the other trips we had fridges but I just wanted to make sure :)
