Another post about Carnival email to arrive for boarding later...

Another reason people arrive early is so they can have lunch on board! :)

But, you certainly don't have to get there in the morning.

This is true ,a lot of us travel the day of to the port or drive to the port

But to arrive at 2:30 when the cruise sails @ 5 and have to rush to board ,that first day is wasted just rushing around trying to figure things out fighting onboard traffic ;)

Get to the port at 11am ,maybe wait a bit with everyone else at noon your sitting on the lido deck people watching already settling in starting your wonderful vacation

I have friends with property in Belize and getting out of Belize via ground transportation can also be a nightmare.

One poster said... go ahead and arrive early but be prepared to wait. That's good advice.

One poster said... That's an email you should heed. Also good advice.

Here is something else to consider...we just sailed the Inspiration out of Long Beach on May 13th. We arrived to the pier around 10am hoping to be on the ship by 11:30. We didn't even get called for boarding until after 12noon. The excuse given to us was: Government Cut Backs, fewer Custom's agents working.

When we disembarked the following Friday... there were only three agents working. However it did go by pretty quickly.

You have to know yourself. Will you start to get anxious because you are sitting there with nothing to do but listen to everyone else complain because they can't get on early? If so, don't go so early.

If not...roll the dice and hopefully you will get on. Our last Magic Cruise in June we were on the ship by 11am and it was great!!

the part about govt cutbacks is funny, last Sept. they only had 3 and cutbacks hadnt even started yet.

Forgot to mention we ignored message too

This message is different than the ones you should just ignore. It actually mentions the prior cruise returning from Belize. We were on the Liberty last September, and had a stop at Belize. We stood in the customs line at least an hour and a half. It was that slow. Anyone who did not have a us passport

or id received extra screening. They were fingerprinted, and pictures taken. And other extra screening which held up the lines. Personally, I think it would be a good idea for customs, that if the cruise has stopped at Belize, those with us passports go to a different line or two.

Then again, what's the difference... over 11 million illegals here already that are going to get a slap on the hand and a "welcome to our country even if you already broke our laws".... what's a few more?????
