What did you spend on your Allure/Oasis cruise?

Recommended Posts

I just called the Hilton however, they do not offer free shuttle to and from the hotel and they don't offer free breakfast buffet or shuttle to the port. It looks very nice though but I think we'll stick with what we are comfortable with. Thank you so much for the information.

For our balcony boardwalk view for two in October we are around $1800 I believe... Last time we were on the allure we spent about $1000 on board for drinks, photo cd, specialty dining... A little shopping. We had gone all out for our 5 year anniversary... And we were traveling with a large group for the first time... They helped us spend more money, lol... We didn't book excursions through that boat that cruise so we spent probably another few hundred off the boat... Since a group of us negotiated taxis and things for our excursions.

It seems most cruises we take we spend about the cost of adding the equivalent of a third person.

I don't spend any more money on the Oasis class, then I do on other ships. We always buy a 5 bottle wine package for dinner, we buy 2 photos (second is 1/2 off with C&A coupon), and we buy 1 or two drinks each a day when we go to the bars/entertainment in the evening. We don't do specialty restaurants for dinner, but will go to Johnny Rockets for lunch one day each week. We also buy 1 or 2 soft drinks during the week, if we get pizza or room service. Don't really spend much in the gift shops - just a magnet and tree ornament - both of the ship we are currently on. Our wine package, and some of our drinks are usually covered by on board credit (usually about $250 in credit for the week). We do budget about $50.00 each for the casino, I brink that in cash - not on our sea pass - but don't always spend it. Sometimes, we may buy and ice cream. We also allow money for the shops on board, but don't usually buy anything. We don't owe much at the end of the cruise.

I booked the 12/1/13 Allure sailing a few months ago and was thrilled with the price, B2-$1029 pp...including a specialty restaurant and spa package from my TA. While were having a glass of wine at a cafe in the French Alps last month, I received an email from my TA.....she repriced our balcony for $729 pp, minus our DP $225 balcony discount, so $616.50 pp, and moved to a B1. Our repricings are automatic.....no phone calls or emails required. This happens on almost ever cruise.

After the Allure cruise, we're taking a shuttle down to Miami and trying the Azamara Quest for a 12 day cruise... she booked it for us for $999 pp with $150 obc. We wanted to experience Azamara with drinks and gratuities included.

I feel your pain OP! We are all in different financial sutuations and can all spend different amount.

This is one reason why I have not done Oasis/Allure at this point. I hope to someday get on those ships.
It takes time and disipline to save the money up. We pay cash for everything!

For the FOS, it was a good 5k for a family of 3 in the summer.(we have a school aged child) We had a D2 balcony.

*RC Visa: about $250 Onboard credit
*Capitol One CC:$100 Marriott GC. We paid the Courtyard Marriott PC $9.00 when we checked out.
*Mine and Hubbys transportation with Travelinx was included in Marriott "Snooze and Cruise" We paid for DS. Cant remember the price.
*One plane ticket on SW airlines was free with our Discover Card Travel points. Plus we got a $100.00 SW Airline GC in the mail for an anonynamous person one day and we used that also

We did our excursions through RCI because DH felt better doing that, and safer. We just paid their price. Snorkling at Coco Cay is not expensive at all.

No specilty restuarants
One drink each for me and DH at the Viking Lounge
DH insisted on a Bingo Game. I fought him on it becuse he is thrfity and I thought it was a waste, but he said it was vacation
A few souvenirs here and there. We dont need anything. I have a coffee mug from the ship store.

DS and I bought a cupcake each.

DH is allowed $20.00 a night at the roulette table. He needs to walk away when he doubles his money, but he never does.

*I got the soda package for me and DS. it was worth the $6.00 a day for us. Dh just drank the tea

What I would recommend OP is if you are a Costco Member, they have cruise packages on Oasis/Allure with many things thrown in. I would look at the packages. It might be worth joining for the year to get the free stuff. I will use Costco next time to book, or maybe I will see what our Discover Card will offer

We booked our recent Oasis cruise just before final payment. We had a +55 rate and paid 1049 pp for a D5 balcony cabin for 2. We had a balcony discount with that. With insurance and taxes our final total was about $2900. We had $200 OBC from our Royal Visa. Our excursions were about $300 prepaid before we left. Soda package for me $52 but used OBC. Water package for DH prepaid was about the same. Air fare was about $800 and precruise hotel $149.
We bought a few trinkets in Jamaica for about $35. I forgot to pack DH's belt and dress socks so we bought those onboard using OBC. 3 specialty restaurants and 3 meals at Johnny Rockets, 2 glasses of wine for me. All onboard expenses were taken out of OBC. I left the ship with them owing me $20! That's the way I like it! It can be done much cheaper. A few weeks before the cruise the prices were slashed so that a balcony could be had for about $800 pp. We could have price lined a hotel for less, but I wanted to stay at Embassy Suites on 17th street. It's a much better location than Dania which is were we usually stay. I think I would be just as happy without the extra restaurants, and the excursions we took weren't anything special. This was an extra trip for us, just decided a few months ago, so we really spent more than I had planned.

To the OP

You found airfare for 4 for $1K? Do you mind if I ask which airline? I booked 5 months in advance and after checking with 8 sites (at least) it cost me $2K (with luggage) to fly 3 of us what would be a 20 hr drive. Are you close to FL?

I haven't even sailed yet and for 3 of us, I've already spent $7222 for 1 gratuity (other 2 pd by TA) and CL suite, $1758 in excursions, $2K for airfare, $150 hotel, $395 drink package, $44 cupcake decorating, $120 bon voyage gifts, $30 specialty dining (other 2 paid by TA) and I'll book flow rider lessons for both kids. I'll probably spend another 1K between tips/souveniers/letting daughter play some slots for 1st time/few pictures/food/taxis. Grand total $12719.

I do like the fact that just about everything will be paid for before ever getting on the ship!!
