PA Beachlovers Posted July 25, 2013 #26 Share Posted July 25, 2013 We'll be cruising on Halloween for the first time this year, too. How many people DON'T dress up for it? Would DH and I be the odd couple out if we didn't dress up? We're just not that in to Halloween even at home, so I'm not sure how in to it we'd want to be on board. That being said, I wouldn't want to feel like a fish out of water if we didn't dress up. We were on the Freedom last year for Halloween and I would say less than half the people dressed up, with us its the space to bring the costume in the luggage since we fly in to cruise. We didn't feel out of place and had a great time!

RockNCntry Posted July 25, 2013 #28 Share Posted July 25, 2013 I agree with most of the posts here, at least 70% of folks dressed in costume! Some just t-shirts in orange or black! I went as "Giligan" (Gilligan's Island) for you older folks! :p Wife found some clothes and dressed like a Gypsy! The funniest one I sawa Husband and wife, dressed, Her as Cop, and Her hubby as a prisoner! On the back of his prison suit, it said "Serving A Life Sentence For Robbing The Cradle" He was quite a bit older then his wife! They were a lot of fun! The only problem,Securitywould not let her bring her handcuffs onboard!:D I bet she missed them a lot later! lol, Just dress how ya feel, anything is fine! But Halloween was my favorite time to cruise!
afcruiser Posted July 25, 2013 #29 Share Posted July 25, 2013 We'll be sailing on Halloween for our first time. We'll be in Cozumel from 11 till 8 pm. Been thinkin of some costume options. We'll be flying so space is limited. Will most likely be slightly intoxicated as well so something simple a must.:p Any idea's. I like the Gilligan idea. With hubby though maybe Skipper. All-ready has the Belly.:p
scarlet_aurora Posted July 25, 2013 #30 Share Posted July 25, 2013 Just a heads' up - I know when we did the Halloween cruise in 2007, they wouldn't even allow toy or plastic weapons onboard. So they might not let you bring the plastic sword. Lots of folks planning to be pirates had their swords taken at embarkation and were complaining about it. :) oh that sucks! I wonder, if it was on the luggage that is packed, I wonder if they would take it then. . . hum..... It is a rubber type, so it might not show up...... hummmmmmmm
ccruisequeen Posted July 26, 2013 #31 Share Posted July 26, 2013 Some people who didn't pack costumes just grabbed a bunch of towels from their cabin and went as towel animals!
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted July 26, 2013 #32 Share Posted July 26, 2013 I think it depends not the ship/cruise director about when the declarations go up. We cruised the 24-29, 2011 on the Fascination. By the late evening of the the 24tj the entire ship was decorated with Hallowween blow ups to spider webs being every where.
PittsburghGirlee Posted July 26, 2013 #33 Share Posted July 26, 2013 Being creative is key. I once saw someone who just had a big black "P" around their eyes....They were the Black Eyed Peas:D Everyone got a good laugh out of it...
All4fun&fun4all Posted July 26, 2013 #34 Share Posted July 26, 2013 I will be dressing as a Carnival Cheerleader. It's sort of a play on words for things that I have read here about Carnival fanatics (cheerleaders) and it will look cute too. I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years. It's my favorite holiday though. :)
afcruiser Posted August 1, 2013 #35 Share Posted August 1, 2013 Wondered? Would they let one in the Dining room in shorts on Halloween if it was part of a costume? Just like denim shorts. Not shorty shorty shorts.
Fishymom Posted August 1, 2013 #36 Share Posted August 1, 2013 So happy to know there will be something for the kids! We cruised over Halloween for our honeymoon back in 2000 and I really don't remember them doing much of anything. A few dealers in the casino were dressed up. Yay!!! Now to start thinking about pack able costumes...
Fishymom Posted August 1, 2013 #37 Share Posted August 1, 2013 LOL Just went to Pintrest and searched easy couple costumes. Two robes, two sets of slippers, two towels on head, green makeup on face - 'spa day'

Not shorty shorty shorts. As long as shirt and shoes are added I don't think they will have a problem ;)
