Items to take with me for a beach filled itinerary

Hello,

I'm new to this forum but I wanted to ask you if it is necessary to take some light loungers/ beach chairs with me for a Caribbean cruise I have booked in jan . not sure if beaches in grand Turk , st. Thomas have loungers on the beach or not . I know HMC have loungers, clamshells and cabanas. Also not sure of the beaches at Cayman, San juan, Ocho rios. Thank you so much :)

Lots of chairs at Grand Turk, but I don't know if they're free or fee, 'cuz the only beach we use is HMC. Maybe just the clamshells cost, like HMC. :)

We go to Magen's Beach in St. Thomas and there are loungers and umbrellas to rent.

Most beaches will rent loungers. You mentioned bringing your own. How would you get it on the ship? With the rest of your luggage? Never seen it.

 

I believe you'll be fine without having to bring your own.

Grand Turk has more loungers than they likely will fill and they're fine.

Most beaches will rent chairs and umbrellas for moderate charge. No need to bring your own chairs. Just go to ports of call forums on CruiseCritic and ask about which beaches on the islands you are visiting will rent chairs. You'll get plenty of responses. Do a search on those boards.... that question likely has been asked and answered a great many times. :)

Cayman has a 7 mile beach but u have to take an excursion for it. Ocho, I was told that the ship docks at an undesirable beach. As far as San Juan, please check the ports section here on cc. Welcome to CC.

7 Mile Beach at Grand Cayman has lots of place to get loungers and shade, some for $$.

Whenever we are cruising, I always do what SAIL suggested. I go to the various ports of call and ask which beaches rent chairs and umbrellas. I need protection from the sun and want to know what's what before I arrive at a beach. SO far, I've never had a problem in any of the many Caribbean ports we've been to.:)

SanJuan beaches are in Condado and Isle Verde sections not in Old San Juan where the ship docks.

 

You'll need a bus or taxi. Research as to hotels permitting 'non-guests' to pass on their property to get to the beach.
