USS Constitution Cruise

Has anyone recently took this cruise USS CONSTITUTION?

Thoughts and reviews:

It is about 45 minute cruise to sights and drops off at the USS ship.

Picks up at the Long Wharf in Boston for the Princess cruisers (Caribbean) is this close to where we dock?

Sounds like the water taxi.

You would need to find your way to Long Wharf. Either take a taxi, or get on the Silver Line, transfer at South Station to the Red Line, transfer at Park Street for the Green Line, transfer at Government Center to the Blue Line, then go to the Aquarium.

This is what we did in 2009. We used the shuttle bus outside the ship terminal and made our way to the water taxi boats near the aquarium. Gave a great view of the skyline and we started the Freedom trail where we were dropped off, and walked back to Quincy Market.

There is a MBTA water taxi from Long Wharf to the Constitution that runs about every 15 minutes for $3. http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/boats/

It all depends on what else you might want to do while in Boston besides cruise the harbor for 45 minutes for $38 plus the cost of getting to Long Wharf by ship's shuttle or the T.

What I suggest is to take a cab from the pier to the Constitution for about $20. Check the times - I believe the museum opens at 9 am and the first tour is at 10 am. You can also walk the Charlestown portion of the Freedom Trail to see Bunker Hill. Then take the water taxi to Long Wharf for $3/pp. from Long Wharf you can walk north along the Waterfront into the North End and pick up the Freedom trail to circle back to Faneuil Hall or you can go directly to The Faneuil Hall area.

From there you can walk the Freedom Trail backwards to the Boston Common and take the Red Line direction Braintree to South Station and transfer (do not go through the exit gates) to the Silver Line SL2 bus back to Black Falcon.
