Kuikahi Posted September 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Does anyone know what the current "credit" amount is if don't book my LAX-PPT air travel through PG? Thanks!
Tikiintahiti Posted September 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Call PG Cruises and ask. I've seen a bit of fluctuation now and then so it is best to ask. Bottom line is unless your using miles the inclusive price will always been buying airfare on your own especially when you consider it includes transfers and days rooms. AHA Posted September 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Booked our own flights using airmiles this past June and were given $1500 per person credit... enough to promptly upgrade ourselves to a veranda stateroom on 8th deck!
Kuikahi Posted September 29, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Thanks, I will talk to someone at PG tomorrow when I finalize my booking. I was just sitting here today crunching numbers. It looks as if PG will have the better deal right now. I'd love to use miles but mine are all on United and you can't get there from here... Rare macbest Posted September 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2013 We were looking at a sailing in February. Airfare credit was $1400 LAX to PPT. It includes more than just the air, however as others have said. Day rooms on front end and back end and transfers both ways also. Have never been able to get a quote from Air France or Air Tahiti Nui for less especially when considering these extras.
Silver Sweethearts Posted September 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Kuikahi - If it would fit your schedule, you might consider a UA flight to and from Honolulu and then the weekly Hawaiian flight from there to Tahiti and back again. This is very iffy, we know, but had to mention it.
Dean Posted September 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) We are booked for the May 10th, 2014 7 day cruise. We used our miles for the flight and have received $1,550 per passenger credit. Edited September 30, 2013 by Dean
Kuikahi Posted September 30, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Thank you for the responses. I just talked to PG and the credit is $1,450 for a December 2013 booking. Silver Sweethearts, I looked into the HNL route but since Hawaiian only flies to/from PPT on Saturday it would be too close for comfort. I'd have to go over a week early. Hmm... Tikiintahiti Posted September 30, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 30, 2013 So 4 different amounts were given by 4 different posters. $1400, $1450, $1500 & $1550 ........ What did Taikiintahiti say, "I've seen a bit of fluctuation now and then so it is best to ask." ;) The amount given to you is still cheaper than trying to do it on your own, especially when you factor in the extras. Kuikahi Posted September 30, 2013 Author #10 Share Posted September 30, 2013 Tikiintahiti, Thank you, I was cognizant of the fluctuation and the extras. I had not remembered to ask PG about the credit amount. I was curious but it was Sunday! PG does offer the better price currently. I've done it both ways; it just depends upon a variety of individual factors.
stephenandrew Posted October 2, 2013 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2013 The air credit varies based upon the cruise (length and itinerary)---I do not recall the particulars but the specifics can be found in the PG Cruises catalogue.
aznfayeth Posted March 16, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 16, 2014 Is it onboard credit or do they charge you less for the cruise?

Emdee Posted March 16, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 16, 2014 If you want to go business then it's a lot cheaper to take the credit and book it yourself.
twin123185 Posted March 16, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Tiki - coming from NYC it is actually the same or me booking my own air and flying Hawaiian Airlines from JFK to Honolulu and onward to PPT. The credit I got was pretty much my r/t airfare! Edited March 16, 2014 by twin123185
